Would love it. Games at the Rosemont Horizon. But it's really expensive to do. The Big Ten schools that have hockey teams started them decades ago. Nowadays, yikes, rather spend it on NIL for BBall and FBall.

It has always made me wonder why NU or Illinois don’t have hockey with all the talent in the Chicagoland area. At one time I believe the state was around 5th in producing college players, but they all obviously head elsewhere.

Sounded like Illinois was close to announcing they were building a new rink, but then covid happened.

With the Blackhawks and Wolves well established in this town, there is no way a college hockey team can succeed here. Omaha, on the other hand, has no pro competition. UIC tried a hockey team 40 years ago (before the Wolves) and could not make a go of it.
