Deflections, deflections, deflections....Unbelievable! They make every pass hard. They are so active with their hands. Nothing goes uncontested. Kelvin Sampson's defense is old school, smash-mouth, half court defense that we don't see often. It reminds me of Tubby's glory days. This is the kind of defense that rips away the opponent's manhood. I just love watching their sheer grit on the defensive end. Gonzaga hasn't faced a defense like that all year.

If Sampson had just a few of UK's players on their roster, it would be a nightmare with the length and athleticism.

Houston plays so hard all the time they are just wonderful to watch play the game. They are flying around all over the place like demons possessed. People that quit watching basketball when their own team loses are missing a lot.

Gotta say it’s really fun to watch Houston, St. Pete, and Arkansas play and the passion showing through. They get after it. No fear.

I guess all the people wanting that Arizona coach can shut up now. Like Gonzaga, first time they play a real team after a weak conference schedule, they go down.

Houston is great with their injuries and Samson has done well there but he is 66 years old. He is not getting another high major big name job at this point.

Why would Sampson be looking for another job?
Hes done an outstanding job at Houston and he doesn't have to have 5 star players at every position.He plays an offense and a defense and doesn't just throw the ball out there.Id say Sampson is very happy at Houston.

Because coaches are coaches because they have a drive message board posters don’t. I’m always amused when I see guys on the couch saying so and so would never leave that easy *** job. And then nearly every single time the coach leaves that easy *** job for pressure.

It’s who these guys are. Sampson would be a KILLER at Kentucky and he knows it.

I wouldnt say ALL coaches are like that.Sure,the goal is to climb the ladder and get to the top but for some coaches that doesnt mean UK.
Jay Wright,Mark Few,Tom Izzo and some others are content where they are at and go about winning and doing their thing at those schools.

A deflection was a stat that Pitino had kept while at Kentucky. Deflect and make every pass difficult. Not a Pitino morality fan but he sure made Kentucky basketball fun. Houston D reminds me of those days but with less athleticism.

Tom Izzo is at Michigan State. Jay Wright is at Nova which is no slouch and was a major conference team. I’ll grant you Few, who has no titles btw, and this is another reason most coaches want better jobs. Who wants to be the next Mark Few, ringless, and losing credibility as a great coach by the minute.
