Kelvin doesn’t recruit soft players. Mills was probably his softest recruit.

Because of recruiting rankings. They are national level recruits. See the post in Alley earlier in week about the issues with both. There’s more to story with KES, but shouldn’t be posted on here.

If it's a problem and he can't do it on the floor he shouldn't be playing.

High rankings playing is how Texas football got to where it is. Its dumb, you play who can and sit who can't regardless of the ranking in high school before they left for other colleges.

Urbancic should get a lot of minutes next half. He won’t, but he should. We aren’t coming back to a respectable final in this one.

Richie won't plant his feet or that's a charge.

Tulsa is just playing weak.

Not the reason we're behind but they are making it hard by not calling fouls on Houston.

No.

Also, we don’t have better players behind them unless you want to argue Richie.

Oh we can argue because we haven't seen them. Haywood and KES are by far the worst +/- players we have and it's not close. You don't need to be a basketball genius to see it.

That charge call was so soft with how this game has been called, and the houston guy was in the restricted area

This officiating is weak. We get clobbered on rebounds, no call. They flop and they call a charge on Early in restricted area. Early has a much momentum as Joe Biden going up stairs.

Embarrassing half. We're not beating them by 26 in the second half

We have as many TOs as we have rebounds and Houston has more offensive rebounds than we have made baskets or total rebounds

The circle is strictly for the second/help defender, a primary can still draw a charge if it would normally be one else where on the court.
What are you talking about? If a player is inside the arc he can’t take a charge period, that’s the rule.

I’m not watching, doing kid bedtime stuff, but this box score reminds me of the Woj vs Calipari games. I don’t miss those, and I effing hate this one.

Oh well, there’s bigger things in life. Spent the past month with a serious possibility I had cancer but received a clean bill of health this morning. So life is good!

Glad you're ok. Plenty to be thankful for!

No it's not. If you are backed down/posted up under the circle in college you can still draw a charge. The rule is constructed to prevent help defenders or closing players from stopping under the basket to draw a foul. In the NBA the rule is different.

Put Earley and Urbancic in and let them play.

That was kind of my point with Gold. If KES or Haywood are having issues (injury, personal, whatever) let the kids play and see what they can do. It won't be worse. You can always sub back with the older two. But Nevada got to a sweet sixteen undersized and playing six. With out Haywood and KES our rotation is seven. I think Earley deserves a chance to prove he can play. Otherwise let a couple of our freshman play and at least get game time to start their own process.

Time to get them good playing time against a good team and not Southwest Christian. Makes them ready for later or next year.

They are going to get lumps one way or another. Don't let them get crushed but they will learn a lot about themselves and the level of play needed.

26-10 rebounding. We usually lose that, but 16? And that 12-1 is killer.

Need to come out chip away, 8-2 here 6-0 there to get back in. If we can cut it to low teens around 5mins to go we can make it a game.

Honest question because I may have missed it: At any point in the first half did we take a time out and run a set play to try to slow down one of their runs?

Haywood in trouble again?? These referees not calling anything on rebounds is going to get out of control.

Now they are pushing and shoving with the refs calling their way, and us way down. There should be a technical for that.
