Only caveat with Syracuse is that Buddy B wasn't available
when we played them
I know. But I watched Houston completely shut him down. I think we would have too. Right now Houston is demolishing Oregon State so far by 14 early in the 2nd half. If they go on to win and get to the Final Four, we will have been their toughest opponent to get there.

What the heck are you talking about ? You know the reason we lost is because we choked
BAC thinks we posters need to get a clue? Really Bac? We lost by 3 freakin' points! Myles missed two easy dunks, and that caused the ball to go back to them without us getting back on defense and that became an 8 point swing.

My god, Some of you here are so damn negative about our team. Our team, remember, OUR TEAM, played their hearts out and NO BAC, the better team did NOT win. I guess you wouldn't know that because you never played organized ball in your life.

Bac is the one that called it a choke

Houston won the game period, suck it up people, guess what teams lose in the tournament all the time. Houston made the plays and Rutgers choked. Better team won

what wild thinking some here have that this should be us playing tonight, well im sure 60 other schools are saying that too including Michigan State

it was, we choked and Houston won, if we were the better team we wouldnt have blown a 9 point lead with 5 minutes making a shitload of mistakes that were very reminiscent of some other games, better team does not dribble the ball off the leg, does not miss the dunk, does not take inexplicably shots, does not stop running an offense, does not dribble for 30 seconds and turn it over, doesnt play horrific defense fouling every play including the difference maker which gave Houston the lead.

I agree with most of that . It would make it easier if we just lost and didn’t choke

It was one dunk and it wasn’t easy. The lob was up high. His momentum carried him too close to the basket and he back rimmed it. The other one was Cliff trying to put back a rebound with a dunk but he never had control. Also not easy. We had very few easy. I let’s against Houston. This team plays great Defense and our great defense along with some pretty good 3 Pt shooting kept us in that game.

While I think we would have carried that into wins against Cuse and Oregon St there is no way we can guarantee those as wins. Again, our D would keep us close and I do think our Offense was pretty efficient the last handful of games. But we cannot say it definitively. That’s why you play the games.
agreed, but we had an easy dunk if we just did a regular pass and not a lob pass.

The missed throw off the guy two inches away out of bounds is the one that’s bothered me the most.

Frank, expound on this. I'm not sure what you're talking about and I watched the game start to finish.

Near the end of the game. Rebounded near out of bounds - had a chance to throw the ball off the guy and missed him to the left.

Any one of THREE Myles plays probably win that game...
ally-oop
bunny put back
a simple defensive rebound on the missed 3 with a minute left.

Hate to pick on Myles but man he did not have a good end game.
He was fouled on that put back , no call, but tbh we couldn't count on him hitting the FTs. The missed alley- oop dunk was the killer. Not a perfect lob by Geo but good enough.

shouldn't have even come to that. Just grab the board...it came right to him! Literally hit him in the hands. Might have been fouled, honestly.

Refs hosed us, 1 or 2 correct calls in the last 4 mins and we may have survived all our bungles.
This^^^ You guys are totally missing the big picture, the game was obviously fixed, the people in power in the NCAA will simply never allow Rutgers to fulfill its destiny to be the dominant program in both men's basketball and football.

Houston is very good keeping teams under 60 and loves playing slug it out games that are ugly. As someone stated teams give up 9 point leads all the time. We played Houston tough and our length gave them some fits. Yes we lost the lead over the last few minutes but some of our posters give RU no credit for going head to head with Houston who has shown they are definitely one of the best teams in the nation. Give it a rest already. Some of our fans just look at the negative and love criticizing our players and coaches.
And yet we have ******** on this board who were calling Pike to be fired a few weeks prior to our first appearance in the NCAA’s in 30 years! Complete and utter aholes.
