Bottom line it’s disgraceful that Horton didn’t play over Harler all year. Huggs should have focused on getting Horton up to speed back in October practice and November. He should have played him in all the garbage games. Coaches want their scholarship investment$$$$$$$ to play over the walkon. I get it. But......Horton is better. If Horton sticks around he will play more minutes next year. Huggins won’t be able to keep him on bench as much. He’s schooled these guards in practice often but Huggs claimed he doesn’t know the sets or system well enough yet. Next year he will understand the mental aspects from the jump. Horton will play lots next year. Huggs knows he has skill and athleticism. That’s why Beetle is gone. Huggs knows he has McCabe, Knapper, Haley, Horton, Harler, McBride for next year. Beetle was in the way of younger guys needing their chance.
