I would be surprised if they did. What reason would there be to go back to a free board when he (kakert) can basically just forget about it?
I believe I saw someone comment that they had recently dropped the annual subscription price by 50%...
Not worth their time but the equivalent of a social membership at a country club would solve the problem. Charge $1 to post on the free boards to keep the bots away, which would not give you access to the lounge.
This. I'd give him $20 a year for access to the OT board.
I think we have some cosmic losers like McGibb/IAFB, Scruddy, the HAWKEYE FOOKIN HITMAN, and BrushyBilly who are so dedicated to their mission that they would pay $1 and keep creating new handles each time one is banned. That's not a given at $20 a pop.
I think at $20 a pop I would re-emerge during football season, only to be @ 100 times per week by KCeast and eventually just disappear forever.
I was just thinking about this... Kakert is holding out longer than I thought he would. I still am glad I can post for free on the FB and BB forums, that is what brought me to the site in the first place and I won't justify paying a good amount of money for OT political circle jerk threads or Hawkeye info that gets released for free anyway...

Didn't he say that a huge portion of the rev is subs, and people with subs can view the OT board.
I would think with reddit etc that these forums would have their days numbered but I guess there is a hard core group.
It's clear that most of the traffic to the OT board are non-subs, or at least the most active posters are non-subs. Not sure how much ad revenue that generates. Prob doesn't care since if people have been here for years and not gonna sub, then what's he really losing?

Presumably bots wouldn't pay the toll. So that's part of the problem solved.
Or would they? If you are an advertiser who demonstrably gets customers from HROT, why not pay another buck for a bot that stirs up interest and eyeballs?

Frankly, if they offered the $1 membership for OT, and everyone did at least that, I would go ahead and get the full membership for the Lounge.

As a guy who has had access to the lounge for years, the info gained has seriously regressed. The vast majority of breaking news is accompanied by a tweet.
Frankly, this whole episode has loosened up my position on the ignore button. People need to make more frequent use of it.
Just ignore the trolls without using the button,.. Better to see what they're doing, and not participate.

It's better to Ignore and then use the "Show Ignored" button (bottom of the page).
Why is that better? Because you get to see the ignored posts, but they are marked to remind you that these are posts from people you know not to take seriously. Sometimes I forget who the minor idiots are.

That’s also telling when everyone is over here posting yet they keep wanting to go back to the old site. It’s clear as day that they need their liberal loving mod back so they can do and say whatever they want. They don’t have that safety net on this site. Weird how my posting hasn’t changed one bit and no mod has said anything to me.
