This has nothing to do with money. Bad coaching, bad player evaluation all equals getting beat by 50 points to a conference team.

Embarrassment levels only reached by Jordan.
Come back to CE board. Your squad is dying over there

#12 Gonzaga says hold my beer. Lost to Michigan by one less point than Rutgers. And BTW, it was 41 points, not 50.

And we played Michigan at their home.

We probably have played the two toughest teams we will play this year. Maybe MSU.

I agree. Not about money more on coaching like you said.

it’s very clear to me watching these games. It’s actually been like this over the years and many people were blinded by optimism. This coach has not done a single thing to change any of his philosophies or schemes. Even are out of bounds plays are the same ones we have seen over the years and we struggle to get the ball in…dreadful

pike os a dinosaur and has refused to adapt on the court. yes NIL has something to do with it but it doesn’t have anything to do with refusing to adjust his coaching philosophy, there are plenty of defensive first coaches that have adjusted on offense to the modern style. hurley and kelvin sampson to name a few . pike is stuck playing on one one ball with non power 5 players who are taking midrange jumpers. just horrible coaching and philosophy, On d, his system works best with 3/4 year players in his system . Well guess what , that doesn’t happen anymore and he’s refused to adjust . Never mind the lack of covering the 3 line when teams take and make more 3s than ever at every position on the floor. It’s like he doesn’t understand the modern game at all or refuses to adjust to it. It’s like they say, adapt or die and he’s a carcass on the side of the parkway

I’m not sure what anyone was expecting Michigan won 3 games against ranked teams in Vegas by an average of 34

why would we do better

This. Michigan is going to do that a lot this season, to teams that are far better than us. They’re stacked this year.

I remember when Pike said it was difficult for someone to get minutes because they hadn't yet learned our 16 or so inbounds plays.

Where’s all the Pike apologists claiming he is and would never be Eddie Jordan bad?

This team has less talent and is worst then Eddie Jordan’s teams
The only thing I would take from the Rutgers Michigan game is that Michigan is playing at an elite level since the LAs Vegas tournament. They beat San Diego State 94-54, #21 Auburn 102-72, #12 Gonzaga 101-61, Rutgers 101-60 and Villanova 89-61 after Michigan was up 53-23 at the half. If Villanova didn’t hit a last second 3, they would have beat them by over 30 too.

I don’t know how the rest of the season will go. The freshman coming in have a lot of potential, but they need to improve or at least gain confidence if they are going to contribute this season. My guess is that they will end the year at 7-6. After that there will be 18 Big Ten games. I remember one year with Eddie Jordan that it took Minnesota having so many injuries that they started a walk on at point guard who had to match up with Corey Sanders for Rutgers to win a Big Ten game. I just don’t see Pikiel sinking that low.

Michigan has at least 3-4 NBA players next year and elite coaching. I guess just enjoy the show.

Its not all about nil

Its roster and talent management for 4 years now showing its face

Yes nil is a big factor..but
Agreed

it’s also about where you actually spend your NIL as well.

There isn’t a upperclassmen on the roster that deserves or should have been paid on the roster.

It is hard to judge the freshman. It’s early and some have flashed in limited minutes.

The decision to pay any of the upperclassmen is just a complete failure
