Has kept this from being a 15 pt halftime lead...gotta get it going second half. Don't think PJ /RT can be guarded down low...let them have the confidence build up. KJ has got to step it up!

Anytime we have the slightest contact, Pearl has instructed them to flail to the ground. It has happened the whole first half. They tried it twice on Herro before he picked up his first foul.

The issue is just the missed opportunities to put them away. Offense was good when we got shots but we had too many absolutely unforced turnovers. Can't say the offense was bad when you get that many wide open shots, the shooters need to make them.

Auburn missed a boat load of shots. Can’t expect them to be that cold in the second half. We gotta improve our scoring a lot to win this game.

lol...here we go. Should wait to spring this on everyone if we lose.

Never at halftime when we're in the lead. Never when the offense is purposely playing this way to counter the up/down offense that Auburn wants to run. Clearly, you all did not watch the Auburn/UNC game, where UNC wanted to run and got murdered in the process.

I'm sure that Cal just rolls the ball out without thinking. I'm sure the players want to play this slow because it ups their NBA stock.

BUT HEY! Don't let any of this stop you. Just make sure when someone holds your feet to the fire when we win that you don't go all 'defensive' and cry foul.

They are pressuring the ball on every drive. Have to turn the corner and get into the paint to draw them off of our Bigs. If we can do that it will open up everything else. Then we must make open shots.

We are point guard-limited, and therefore struggle in the half court offense. Cal’s Teams need superior point guards based on how he always prepares his teams to play.
The offense was fine for the first ten minutes, then the team stopped passing well. Too much one on one plays. We can get it going again. All is fine.

Anyone who knows anything about basketball can tell you that Hagans kills the flow of our offense. He NEVER gets the ball to Herro on time, NEVER. Good point guards deliver the ball to the wing "on time". Translation: the ball is there when the player first breaks free. Hagans either gets it there late, or not at all.

this is correct, we just don't have a guy who can take the ball and get 6-8 points a game at the rim just because he's better than everyone else. We had a lineup in there earlier with Quickley, Baker and Johnson, none of those guys can win off the dribble. That's how you get bad looking offense

Guys. Auburn put up 98 against UNC and were sitting here complaining about a bad offense. We missed some open looks.. It happens. R-E-L-A-X

You can't have your point guard dribble at the top of the key for 12-15 seconds watching Herro or Johnson run back and forth off of screens trying to get open while the shot clock runs down to 10 seconds!! I have no idea what Cal's objective is offensively...start the offense with a pick for Hagans as soon as he crosses half court and have Auburn players chasing the ball which will lead to wide open shots.

Tyler can. That's why when he goes out, everything looks worse. Ashton MUST be able to get by his man.
no he can't, he can make one move and get a jumper or a floater, he's not beating his man and getting layups

which is fine, he's still a great player, but you need a guy (at least one) who can do that and we don't have it

It's pulling players with 2 fouls.. No one can get going. Thankfully.. We won't be pulling many guys as this gets down to the 10 min mark.

Ashton and Quickley are both limited. Herro and Washington are the only guys with a hint of dynamic offensive play and neither are primary ball handlers.

The problem is Cal is becoming one of the worst offensive coaches in the sport. It's starting to look like Tony Bennett. No matter how good you are and how much better you are than your opponent if you can't score you lose. Cal really needs to rethink his system on offense because we are clearly in a systematic rut.

So you guys aren't noticing that every time PJ or Reid touches it near the paint, they put 2 guys directly on him with a third two steps behind? And that this arrangement has produced like 4 separate turnovers in this half? And half the time our guy tries to go up, he's fouled with a no call?

Huh.
