Where do we stand now? Have we honed in on anyone for the backup 5 and if so are we close to closing or is this going to drag out to the summer? Is there any chance we will take a red shirt recruit like DeZonie?

I mean we will see. Still a lot of time for more players to enter the portal and unless if I’m mistaken, we added Hyatt soon after he entered the portal. Perhaps we’re waiting on that certain someone to enter the portal.

An interesting part of the portal is that when kids land somewhere else it could then trigger someone on that team to want to transfer if they feel like their spot is now been taken in the rotation

A name that became available recently was Chad Baker, a 6'7 190 freshman SF from Duquesne. Avg 9.5 pts 2.9 reb in 15 games FG 43% 3pt 25-60 41.7% FT 26-32 81.3%, played for Colonia HS and Spire Academy. 23 vs Fordham, 19Pts and 21pts vs URI, 16pts and 12pts vs Richmond. Eric LeGrand follows him and returned follow.

Quincy Guerrier, 6'7 220 from Syracuse, entered transfer portal and NBA Draft. If he pulls his name from the draft, he isn't going back to Syracuse with the portal moves Syracuse made, avg. 13.7 pts, 8.4 reb last year. Cliff and RHJ follow him and returned follow.

Interesting name hit yesterday Mamadou Gueye a 6’9” 4/5 from Stone Brook. Originally from Monroe Junior College NY. Very good 3 point shooter, defender and rebounder in his league. BC, SMU and Pitt are among the teams that have reached out. He is from Staten Island. No mention of Rutgers anywhere but are staff does not like publicity. If he played the 4 and 5 with CWiz it would make for an interesting lineup. If Wiz was on the bench for a rest he would take the opposing center outside to open up the inside for Double H, Harper and Hyatt Down Low.

What's with Big Cliff = "CWiz"?

He is an interesting player, and would love to have him, just a little concerned with his finishing, size and defense (his blocks look good, but in the small amount of highlights I watched he seems to not be a very smart defender.) Def worth a look I’d say
