What do you know about home schooling? Is it legit? Can a kid pass the college entrance exams after being home schooled? Who is supervising this teaching process? I'm just worrying some about it.

Skal isn't home schooled. He goes to a regular high school but cannot play BB for them because of Tennessee high school transfer rules.

But to answer your question, Tim Tebow WAS home schooled but was permitted to play football at the local high school (they won the FL state championship in Class 4A I think)

Skal speaks four languages which is three more than 98 % of the people on this board speak. he is a sharp kid. He'll qualify easily.

Okay. Thanks guys. See, someone yesterday said that he was home schooled. I hope everything is okay.

Lot of misinformation out there. There are zero problems with him getting into UK unless he's murdered somebody and the news hasn't broken yet.

Based on how poorly some write, I'd argue that's 4 more languages than some of the folks on there.

Hey guys - I didn't want to start a thread about it, but I have read on here from time to time about "bad handlers" for Skal. What I have heard from him, I really like .... what is the handler situation?

Home schooled students have a curriculum and criteria to follow just like other students. In most locales the local school system assists with the program.

Where is this home schooling rumor coming from? Skal attended Laussane Collegiate School his senior year. His prep team was not associated with the school. It's similar to how Huntington Prep works. Although in the case of RYD Prep it's little more than an extra-curricular club. Like a chess team someone organized.

For the record, we homeschooled my daughter for her last 3 years of HS for special reasons. She went on to college and grad school and currently works as an academic coordinator for an institution of higher learning in California.

As others have said, even if he were homeschooled, there should be absolutely NO problem with him getting into UK and qualifying.

As mentioned, Skal goes to an actual school (And one that is considered to be very good in academics). He don't play organized basketball in Tennessee because of transfer rules, but he does play for his guardian's AAU team.

Don I am a school teacher and periodically we get a former home school kid who decides to enroll and they do just fine.

Home Schooling and Online Schooling is the most popular ways that kids are now graduating High School. I know here in Ohio you can home school or complete High School by Online schooling and still play High School Sports for the district where you live. You have to carry a 2.0 or higher G.P.A. to play High School Sports.
