That's actually not true. Until this year, Texas hadn't had a Top 10 recruiting class since 2012. Their 2017 class was ranked 31st. Their talent had taken a hit under Brown and Strong. Herman's bringing the talent back.
Now look at the teams that actually do land Top 10 classes every year - Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Georgia, Oklahoma. You'll sense a pattern there.
Whoops! I stand humbly corrected. Their last five years Rivals rankings for Texas were....
31, 7, 12, 20, 24
which is not top10......but averaging 18.8.....which isn't bad. And they just keep losing.....
This also isn't good...Can we delete this thread. Not good for the coaches, players or recruits to see this. I’m sure the OP didn’t mean any harm but it’s just not a good look for us.
I think I made my point.
Sorry, I get tired of people who try to rationalize everything. Participation trophies and moral victories just aren’t my thing.
3 games, dumba$$Worst coached team in America at this point. Without a doubt.
So you’re withholding judgement until after we get waxed by Purdue, OHST, and Wisky?3 games, dumba$$
I'm withholding judgment for 4 years. So you’re withholding judgement until after we get waxed by Purdue, OHST, and Wisky?
3 games, dumba$$
I'm hoping there is non-stop lightning the whole weekend of the buckeye game. Can you imagine what The Buckeyes are going to do with this team
Um no he didn't. Most of their big runs came from Bootle allowing them to take the outside because he overpursued inside. At least he came to play today. Can’t say that about many others.
Heck even Barry's not that good. He does look like an All American compared to the guy he's playing next to though.I guess you should coach and have all the answers. Until Riley’s guys minus Mo Barry are gone or don’t play we won’t see change. This has nothing to do with coaching.
Absolutely, we're way past that point now. Wholesale changes need to be made. They say if you make whole sale changes the players will take it as desperation. If the current players that are playing have quit, you got no choice.
Frost is the coach. It's his job to not lose the team. Rememeber all the hammering on Riley for not getting players to buy in? Well same should apply for Frost so hammer away. You think this is coaching? These kids quit. They quit when it’s tough, it’s gonna take years to get the Riley weakness out of this program.
You must be forgetting Abdullah and Taylor Martinez as they're the best talents at their respective positions since Solich.Huh? Martinez and Washington are the two best talents are their positions since Callahan was here. Frost had half a recruiting class so far. we have a few good athletes on the 2019 class but it’s hard (impossible) to be top 15 recruiting. when you’re 0-3. Hell, being top 25 like we are is impressive. You’re going completely pessimistic over 8 spots in the recruiting rankings?!? When we have had ZERO success on the field. We will get top 15 classes once we start to win 8-10 games a year. This is going to be a slow rebuild where success on the field will result in more success recruiting. But you’re doubting based on three games, one signing class with a couple of game changers at key positisions and being 10 spots too low in recruiting.
Got it. Truly stupid post. Mind boggling.
Disagree.Absolutely, we're way past that point now. Wholesale changes need to be made.
With this roster and culture no one would overcome Riley in game 3 of year one. This is going to take 3 years minimum to play at a high level.Frost is the coach. It's his job to not lose the team. Rememeber all the hammering on Riley for not getting players to buy in? Well same should apply for Frost so hammer away.
Frost is 2017 COY. I would think he could overcome Riley.
For 5 mil a year, he better produce something better than what he has for the first 3 games.I'm withholding judgment for 4 years.
Then we should be 2-1. Coaching is the main reason that we are 0-3. Prep and discipline are big in the college ranks. Looking at the big picture, we lost 2 games because of coaching. Pretty easy to see this. It will improve, but the coaching has been less than stellar. Football 101. Nobody quits on Frost they say. Fighting till the end. Well guess what? Watch the last two games again closely. They quit on Frost. In the Michigan game, it took 7 minutes. The coaching is fine. If you can't see the difference in speed, strength and athleticism then you're being obtuse. This is a talent issue.
Okay, how many games to beat teams like Troy, stay within 21 vs Michigan, beat Purdue / Illinois / Northwestern? Not average 10 penalties a games, etc? With this roster and culture no one would overcome Riley in game 3 of year one. This is going to take 3 years minimum to play at a high level.
Nothing? Averaging over 10 penalties per game, poor 3rd & short conversion, etc. That has nothing to do with coaching?I guess you should coach and have all the answers. Until Riley’s guys minus Mo Barry are gone or don’t play we won’t see change. This has nothing to do with coaching.

Listen I didnt expect a miracle this season, but to say this has nothing to do with coaching is a little off.
I don't know if that is the case, but clearly that UCF team had far better talent. That will make any coaching staff look good.Did Frost get carried by Mackenzie Milton?
Also remember some of these upper classmen are on their 3rd coach. At this point Im thinking they are just tired, know they have no chance to get any kind of championship, know they have no chance at the NFL. They are ready to move on. While most teams and coaches would have benched them. We just don't have the depth to do it I believe.“Going to get worse before it gets better”. Frost was telling us the truth. I’m sure he saw it in practice this last week. This team has folded up. O-lineman lollygagging. This team has that mentality drilled into them from years with Riley. I don’t care if we landed Vince Lombardi, this team took 2 bad losses on the chin to start the season, all of their “buy in” is gone. Hard to get a 5th year SR to buy in after what his experience with the program has shown.
WrongFor 5 mil a year, he better produce something better than what he has for the first 3 games.
So who would of you hired to fix this mess? And be realistic
That JV squad would curb stomp Nebraska today. Just say'n. Frost came to UCF I think for two reasons. One, he knew his offense would require speed to be success. He knew he could get speed at UCF.Truth hurts. SEC teams don't get up for JV squads. Now run along.

Funny thing is UCF has never had a top ten recruiting class yet here we are with one of the best teams in the nation. Don't trust the stars thing much.
The other reason I think Frost chose UCF was to build a recruiting base for his final goal at coaching at Nebraska. Problem is staying in Florida for just two years doesn't solidify relationships and build a foothold. The other problem is Frost turned UCF into speedy dynamic team and if Heupel sustains it , it will be harder to get Florida kids to go to Nebraska when they can stay close to home. Never mind the Lane Train, USF, Miami, FSU and UF who are also more attractive than Nebraska for Florida kids.
I took my son to the Peach Bowl. If UCF receivers catch just 2 of the dropped deep passes in the first half, UCF beats Auburn solidly by 21 or more.
I hope Frost does well at Nebraska. The question is how patient will you guys be with him? Frost showed the football world UCF is a legitimate power. For that I that I thank him. Hopefully in 3 or 4 years you guys will see success.
Look at Frost like a CEO of a company. CEOs make big bucks. Most companies swap out CEOs when companies are failing. They don't come in and get the company fixed/turned around 9 months in. Which is what we are expecting Frost to basically do. It takes years to turn a big company around. You have to get the right people (players) in place to make everything work correctly. That takes time. For 5 mil a year, he better produce something better than what he has for the first 3 games.
