question: I noticed that when our guys were on the free throw line (including when they were in the shooting motion) that the OSU coaches (including Holzmann) would yell things out (“rebound”, etc )…. Is that normal?

When a player is in the shooting motion of a free throw - is it cool for the opposing coach to be yelling stuff? I mean it’s obviously not illegal but just seems like poor sportsmanship. No?

Caleb was moving, and the OSU guy used his forearm. Could’ve gone either way, but I thought the block call was right.

Cannot remember the last time we got the benefit of the doubt on charging calls on offense and on defense

The thing is, the official DID call the block on Caleb. It's not like Ohio State didn't get the call. And there was a lot of contact so motioning the block after it was already called and doing the flop signal four times when the officials weren't even paying attention to him was classic bush league, immature coaching behavior. That's it. Caleb looked over with a quizzical look like, WTF is with this guy? Obviously, Caleb's defense not only gets in the heads of players but, evidently, coaches. Don't know if either actually said a word to each other. At best it was a passive aggressive move by Holtman but whatever it was, it was embarrassing and not a good luck from a head coach. This is all my recollection from seeing it live. The TV replay really didn't catch any of this.

OSU fans want him gone…. Basically giving no credit to RU and blaming him for the loss. And the guy needs to wipe his mouth it’s weird he is wet lipped all game …. And the vest was weird too
YES the vest!! This isn’t Merrill Lynch buddy

Coaches are starting to get frustrated that we are no longer a cake walk. This was a sharpie marked win for years and now it couldn’t be more opposite. You can tell what coaches will not last by how they handle the RAC (Archie miller comes to mind).

Now there’s an image.
If it’s just the vest that would be very odd.

Agree with the majority here - real bad look for a coach - time to grow up or he’s just cracking under the pressure. Expectations were high with all of the new talent at OSU but that seems to be a problem - too many new faces and Holtman has not gotten them to play as a unit.

I saw it in real time and told the people sitting near me.

I get it. It was a very emotional game and things like that happen BUT as a head coach you need to be above that. He came across looking like a 12-year-old in the moment and I'm sure if he had a chance he would take it back.

Not a good luck for him at all
Yep. And he's the adult making millions. He's the one who needs to put away childish
things

Not sure if anyone noticed during the 2nd half when Caleb was called for a block. First, it was an offensive foul...But the refs called it a Block...after the call, Holtman runs over in front of Caleb, does the block signal right at Caleb...then starts yelling at him that it was a flop with the flop hand gesture. What a classless piece of ....... So glad Pike is our guy. Also glad Caleb kept his calm with the exception of a minor expletive.
He left town with a new "Hot Seat"!
