go for it on 4th and 6 from our 49. He knew we couldn’t stop them. Hell, I bet he was tempted after the false start to still go.
I’ll admit it- I had no belief that our D could make a stop. I was just hoping Grier would have enough time to score last. If we had used timeouts on D. We’d have got ball with 1:30. I think Grier would’ve won us the game.

Where we couldn’t get a stop on their last 3 drives, we didn’t deserve to win. Some semblance of D is required.

I hope Holgs finds about 4 more JCs on D. We need them.

The defense was wore out by the end of the 3rd quarter. The offense did nothing the second half. But both sides of the ball get the blame. Terrible calls by the coaches all the way around. Long pass that could have been a run and used up 35 seconds or more. We let them score with 42 seconds left. We blitz on the wrong side of the 50 time after time. The offense went ultra conservative in the second half. Coaches own this one. They were terrible in the second half.

DH. Cannot. Will never. Win. A. Big game. He is the definition of mediocre. Would make a hell of a t-ball coach though.

I'd say that the Texas game was a big game to win. But it was the only one and I agree that I highly doubt WVU will ever get the 3-4 it will require to actually win the conference.

If we fire Gibson, which is fine with me, we have recruited for the 3-3-5 . We will go through more ugly D before we can slow down the Big 12 shoot out brand of football. A new scheme won’t fall into place just throwing in a new coach. We also have to recruit and rebuild our lineup to match the change.
Don’t get me wrong, I hate the 3-3-5 . But when we change let’s accept the growing pains that come with retooling a major part of the team.
