Yes, he's a freshman. He will improve like most freshmen do. Look at the freshman season these MSU, Auburn, Virginia, and Texas Tech players had. They all improved tremendously and are now in the Final Four.

..is next year going to be different?
I’m obviously not him. But a lot of it depends on the roster. One game elimination tournament means it isn’t necessarily the best teams in the final four. Or that the best team will win. What I do know is UK will be in the hunt like it was every year but two during the Cal era. The offseason additions and subtractions will be very interesting to watch.

My bad. You were talking about Hagans. I think. Yes I think he will improve. Remember, he should have finishing his senior year in high school this year.

Nothing will be different until players return and Cal adjusts.

I hate it but feel that’s the way it is.
Disagree. We win it all this year if Hagans or Quickley come around. Neither were good enough at the point for this team to win a champion. Cal picked two of the best available and it just didn’t work out. Hagans couls return next season and be that guy that we need. People need to relax. There’s no better coaching option out there.

Nobody wants a new coach. We just want the one we have to adjust some things.

Good kid with a bright, bright future. Big load for a reclass. Was supposed to be a high school senior. When Quade left, Ashton was all on his own, and I can’t WAIT to see what he can do for us next year!!!

BINGO!!
Cal has got to find a way to bring in kids that CAN improve over the course of a year and if not, they MUST be willing to return like PJ did.

Where we are getting killed is when he brings in kids with 1 foot out the door and whether they are ready for the NBA or not, they leave.

It has killed us the last 4 years.

Hagans needs to switch to football- be a he'll of a corner- not a point guard or a basketball player. Simply does not have skills nor a feel for the game

Thanks Hogan.

How bad are you feeling right now?
Not as bad as I was. Duke loss leveled me out.

I had a bad feeling all day about this game. Trying to beat them 3 times in one season and they came in hot. The injury to Okekee gave UK a fighting chance but in the end the turnovers and missed fts doomed us.

Buck up man.

Last year Virginia lost in the first round to a 16 seed. Now they are the clear favorite to win it all - after an incredibly lucky break.

We'll see who comes back. But the Cats will be in the mix again next year. Still - as we saw with Duke, UNC, Tennessee, Gonzaga and so on -- all you can guarantee is to be in the mix. After that in a tourney like this you gotta get lucky.
But...UVA doesn't have to deal with the OAD exodus every year.

Yes we are going to be extremely loaded Kev.
We lost 7/8 from last season. We may only lose 3/4 this season with a bumper crop coming in.
We’ll be loaded only if we get one or two good big men. maybe another grad transfer. travis bailed us out this year.

And they have zero championships (yet) one Final Four and two Elite Eights in an era Cal has 1, 4 and 7.

If you'd rather be in the small group of teams with a chance once every 5 or 6 years, Virginia is your model. If you want at least a shot almost every year, stick with Cal.
I'm not knocking Cal at all. Love him as our coach. But I am getting a little tired of the OAD era.

I am not a fan of grad transfers. Travis was a bit of a disappointment by not scoring more. Had he been on a team with more scorers, we are in the FF with a good chance of winining it all.

I agree, but where would this team have been without him?

Yeah, I was trying not to bash a player who really contributed and got us in a position to go to the FF. On a different UK team, he helps us win a title. This team needed scorers all season long. I just think we need to fill our needs differently than using grad transfers. Personally, I like the idea of going overseas more.
