I agree the man can really run a Defense! The boys love him and will ball out for him.

Blitzman, C Cabbarrus hasn't done anything, Pisgah is a joke, Newsome hasn't been the same since he left Butler, and Lloyd runs the 3rd best program in this County. I think we will and can do better than the list you gave.

If you think your program is too good to hire Donnie Keifer or Mike Newsome, you are outside your mind.

We got Barnes from Brevard...It's not like they were a state power when he was there. He did the best he could with what talent he had to work with...I think Lloyd is in a similar boat...but as I've stated earlier, it doesn't matter, because I don't think he would apply.

Those were just names that come to mind of successful coaches that are near by. Chappell was very successful at East Henderson with two state semi-final appearancees. Kiefer has won every where he has been. Newsome knocked Independence down a notch before he left Butler. Also won a few state titles.
A.L. Brown is playing in 4a with 3A numbers. There are several schools larger than them in the 3AA classification. I'm sure there are several coaches who would trade resumes with these guys. As for Lloyd running the third best program, they have been 4th up until this past season. They have struggled to win in the county in recent history. Also heard the trade bug has bit KM with their RB leaving recently.

First off, KM will have the same coaching staff in place next year.....I know some of you have your opinions on that and that's fine, but the staff will be the same. Secondly, KM's RB just completed his Soph Wrestling season.....He's not going anywhere, those rumors no longer have any merit. Third, someone in an earlier post said it best...."some coaches do the best with what they have".....KM has a good group of returning players, they're working hard in the weight room, we do need to get a few lifting some books, but everybody has those issues, we have a new million dollar field house with more improvements to come to the stadium, the community is anxious, the coaches are anxious, and the kids are all anxious to win.....It's tough playing 3rd or 4th fiddle in Cleveland County....BUT you always know where the bar is set.

It will be interesting to see who gets the Crest job....They should have a bunch of good talent as always this coming year.

Clark made a significant difference in the Crest defense. After watching them for years, there was something more than just talent that changed in 2014. Crest has had talent many other years when SP still found holes in the D, but not in 2014. It could be a problem for Crest if he applies for the job and does not get hired. Everyone has a level of ego and being rejected may impact his future at Crest. That D along with Barnes being the best coach Crest has had in getting the team to play with discipline and composure is what separated the 2014 team.

Between Clark, Compton, Quick and the rest of the staff, any of them could be named Head Coach and the machine would continue to roll.. This program is set to be in the top 5 statewide the next 3-4 years.

I would hope the decision has already been made and the administration is just going through the motions to satisfy the main office.

As long as the current staff stays intact, Will Clark gets my vote.

I think you're correct. They have to post it. I have no info, but I think the decision is already made. Hire Will Clark.

You knew he was never coming here. That whole thread was started in jest. We want your players, not your coach.

Not real sure but seems like if it was going to be promotion from within then this would already be over. Hearing that staff will not remain the same-Quick and maybe more headed to SC with Barnes.

No doubt Will Clark can coach it up. He built that defense into the best in the state but if the school is wavering it might suggest his recruiting skills can't cut it.

Process is moving forward. Some great people on the selection committee. I think the job has to be posted for so long to take applications. The Chargers are gonna be alright.

Regardless if the decision has been made or not, the committee has to go through the process. And with so many cancelled school days the last couple weeks, I can see how it might take a little longer to make an announcement.

I am confident that whoever gets the job in the end will do a great job for Crest football.

The previous three search committees did a pretty damn good job.

1987-1996 Mike Stewart - 82-36-1 (2) State Championships.
1997-2009 Roy Kirby - 123-51 (2) State Championships.
2010-2014 Mark Barnes - 63-13 (4) final appearances in 5 years and a State Championship.

Well clown, since it comes from a real estate agency whose kids have went to Crest I am not surprised. The City has become a dump in some areas no doubt about that. But the most important thing is the school is first class with the best facilities. You get the best when your programs have been the best for so long. You just have to learn to accept it.

I have no idea why he chose to thow me in there, but whatever. He knows who is on that committie, it's not that hard to figure out.

I'll just go ahead and tell you what is going on. Will Clark was in line to get it and the only way he will not get it is if someone applied they simply couldn't say no to. Let's say someone like a Jim Bob Bryant. Not saying he did apply because I do not know who applied, but if someone of that caliber applied they would be considered. If not Clark will get it. He's young, a hard worker, and the kids love him. They had to post it, that's the rules.

If you've been to Crest football games for a long period of time, you know who the wheels are. It makes no difference to me who gets it. Here are the requirements.

1. Win
2. Grades
3. Win
4. Control parents and ego's
5. Win

Barnes set the bar high. He did all the above very well. There was no question of who was in charge.

Can I get a witness?

Preach it brother amen!

The reason I was saying I would want someone like you helping pick is because I know you would be looking for the best coach to win!

What I don't want is some on on there that is helping pick a coach with an agenda, and in cleveland county when it comes to school stuff much less football agendas get in the way, and I don't think anyone can argue with that!

That is why the Chargers did so good this year is because Win was before grades.

Yea, you're right. Crest is the best high school for education in the County, and ranked as one of the best in the State go check the rankings, and see how sink-hole-high stands up to Crest. All one has to do is walk around that place on a Friday night and it's easy to see that the gene pool isn't very deep over there, The sad fact is that you sit over there and know it's true.

We did so good because we had better football players than anyone we played. 16-0.... Suck it, clown.

1) Keep the South Point game close
2) Keep the first half of the South Point game close
3) Keep the South Point JV off the field
4) Keep a positive attitude about the inevitable loss to SP
5) Just don't cramp, damn it!!!!
