Clearly hit? Lol There's nothing clear about that at all. if anything I would say it didn't hit because the ball didn't change any kind of trajectory and you would think if it grazed the rim at all it would have went off in a different direction.
But that's a call you cant overturn without clear evidence. On the other hand, one that can be spotted, is its nationally known a 280 lb bull in a China shop flings ppl out of they way as he steam rolls to the goal...bc he does it every game. I wonder what referees could discuss prior to the game on what to look for? I actually enjoyed they made him play thru Tacko..it clearly bothered him as hes not used to not being handed a call after he steam rolls someone.

Just remember, a team with 3 top 5 picks, that cant shoot, couldve easily lost to a mid major. And during the yr, when dunk man was hurt, they looked like a borderline nit team with 2 top 5 picks, a 5 star point guard, and 5 star center. I'm unclear what the Slurpfest is about..they should be beat.

Duke is luckiest team in America. They did NOT deserve to win.
Yep, just stop and think about it; they lucked out against Georgetown in 1990 (I believe that was the year) on a last second shot; got lucky against us in 1992 and now this. Also lucked out when we lost both times when we should have won it all in 2010 and 2015.

Still waiting for that Duke fan to provide his visual proof. I want to see these Duke style calls that supposedly kept Wofford from winning yesterday.

When their plan is "I'm going to say something and hope no one asks me to back it up," they don't have an argument.

Does anyone remember the play at the 7:38 mark of the 2nd half? Did Duke commit a foul on a shot or was it a foul on the floor?

Really took the life out of me today and made me not want to watch the rest of the night basketball.

Just tip that ball in man just tip that ball in.

So many things went wrong up 4 miss the ally oop. Up 1 they miss a 3 with 25 seconds left and you don't get the board.

The Zion drive and no charge call (which you knew they were never making that charge call)

Taco could have got the block heard around the world but instead fouls and gives up an AND 1.

They miss the FT the hook and hold not called and they put it back in for the lead.

ALL THAT AND YET STILL a damn tip in from point blank range could have ended it.

You guys should not be surprised by puke winning this game. As others have said this has been written in stone for puke to win . Money talks.

I can’t really tell whether Barrett pushed Dawkins in the back. But that hook and hold......man. Clear as day. And a freaking point of emphasis. Sheesh.

My guess is Bilas will not refute that or say it should’ve been a no call. Too much visual proof. What he wil do instead - I can hear him already - is say something like look, after the fact you can go back and review the film and find dozens of bad calls. But people want to focus only on one particular call that caused the team they were rooting for to lose.

Count on it.

they are gonna win the title after that, no doubt

They struggled against their 16 seed in the first half before taking off in the second. They were a couple of blown calls from losing in the second round to UCF. They've already lost to VTech before, and there are still two teams capable of beating Duke on the other side of their bracket.
When I watch them play, it feels like they're struggling. Most future champions don't struggle in the first two rounds to win (Cinderella teams aside). They were supposed dominate, and they just aren't. They struggle to make free throws tonight, and then shot above their average from the 3pt line. And that was against UCF. They'll eventually go against a team with a better coach, better personnel, or experience, and their run will end.
I've seen plenty of dominant teams, Duke doesn't look like one to me. I don't think they win the championship this year.

Whether you call the charge on Zion at the free throw line or not, you must call SOMETHING!! Way too much contact for all three officials to swallow their whistles. Even if you call it a blocking foul on the UCF player, Zion shoots the double bonus and Taco is still in the game to claim the rebound. At worst, the game goes to overtime.
Agree totally; my point is, if you, meaning UCF in this instance, are just learning that against Duke if you want to win the game, do not put yourself in a situation where the refs matter.
Even with the BS from the refs, they had several chances on their own and they blew it.
Add in the insurance policy, or refs, it's too much to overcome both

UCF blew that game. Officials were horrible in my opinion period and no it wasn’t Duke won because Duke got the calls. Charges were called that were blocks, fouls not called that were egregious. This occurred on both sides. I’m sorry, if it was a case where Duke got the favor whistle I would say so. Cam didn’t even foul on his 4th. Duke is lucky. Luck is often needed in the tournament. Dawkins Jr was on a mission and almost put them on his back for the W. I was coming here ready to own up to a loss but Zion did what a star does.

Shut up dude. They got hosed.

They have literally gone to the monitor to review that call a thousand times throughout the college basketball season. And yet in the final minute of an NCAA tournament game, nothing.

There's not a chance in the world you can convince me that's a coincidence.

Why the hell was Dawkina not up in the refs about it either. Maybe the moment was so big he didn’t think but it was so egregious that I would have blown a gasket.

Yep or that man had no chance to get that rebound so it didn’t affect the play at all. Blah blah I suck K off in the summertime.

It’s not a charge. It’s the new defense people are employing against Duke where they wait for a duke guy to dribble and then dive under their legs or fling themselves backwards 10ft. Started with Bilas slurping all over willliams from unc doing it. It’ll stop when the refs stop falling for it.
The missed tip just became part of the story. Every champion has to escape once or twice.
Sounds like the exact same type of defense K invented, the flop. You're a clown.

Dan Dakich also tweeted...
Wally Szczerbiak ripped the official in the CBS highlight show. I like Wally, he seems to get it. Wonder if he’d ever get into coaching.
He DID NOT say anything immediately after game. He just slurped Zion.
He just followed Kellogg’s lead.
I’m going to guess he did same in highlight show or someone told him too. Jmo

K will order the same refs work the title game
Seth says... that crew will not be doing anymore games....
More chances for Higgins

Maybe the silver lining is that the refs will call more consistently, because this just isn’t a RR thing. I’m shocked ESPN is allowing so many opposing views. (Coincidence that Disney just bought Fox....hmmmm)

I didn't read all 10 post but there was clearly a hook and hold on the rebound and put back. Delaurier got a way with a call they have called all year long. Dawkins and his players should have made the refs go to the monitor to review that one because if they do and don't call it then everyone would know the NCAA and refs are in bed with Duke and Coach K not just true basketball fans.

Would PJ Washington have gotten the offensive foul called on that late drive to the basket?

The foul shot chicanery was unprecedented.
Watch both the push in the back by Barrett and the hook and hold by #12. It is things like this that make college basketball almost unwatchable. There should be no doubt that the networks want Zion in the Final Four.

And I think about all the comments I have read about how nobody wanted to face Duke until the Final Four. "Please God don't put us in the same bracket as Duke", "I don't want to face Duke until the Final Four", or in other words we can't beat Duke so let's get another Final Four banner to brag about and then they can send us home. And I have been saying Duke can be beaten. Are they good, Yes but, so are the Cats! Why is everyone on this board afraid of Duke! Here little 'ol UCF, without 1/10th of the talent of the Cats, plays big bad Duke right down to the wire with a good chance to win. So, I ask again, why is everyone on this board so afraid of Duke? We Are Kentucky for Christ's sake! We shouldn't EVER be afraid of any team any where, any time!
Why did you refer to UK as Kensucky and RR as Kittylitter on Duke's board? If you are a Duke fan just say so

Wow. UCF wasn't given a 2nd foul shot that they should have been given. That ref should be fired.
The main reason I remember that play is that while the UCF kid is shooting the first free throw, Jim Nantz says "so and so at the line for two." Then he misses the first, Duke gets the rebound and off we go to the other end. All Nantz could say was "I guess they called the foul before the shot" or something like that.

The prevailing theory here is that the refs were biased and were going to ensure a Duke win by whatever means. The shot clock review call was a ref judgement matter and could have gone either way. Yet the refs called it in favor of UCF. Surely a crooked ref wouldn't do that.
