Say what you want, but how can you not have respect for those boys at HT. Going in every year knowing how far behind you are, but still choosing to compete. That is a tougher job than being a 4th string "player" at a normal program. How they field a team every year is beyond me, but I respect them for it!
No offense taken here. Too bad there is not a conference they could get in with similar situations, but I don't think that exist.
Completely respect the kids that play for HT. Knowing they'll get blown out most games but still showing up to play is a rare trait. I just wish the state wouldn't make them play teams like Burns, Shelby, Lincolnton and Cramer. There's gotta be a better solution
Draughn, Patton, West Caldwell, Cherryville, Bessemer City and North Gaston would be a good conference for them this year. Thats why I wish they'd get rid of conferences in football. Just let people schedule whoever. It would probably be heck on an AD but you wouldn't have these games that are just pointless.

It does exist but not close to Hyland tech. North Stokes conference with South Davidson top team. WSP ,South Stokes and Bishop Mcguiness. HT would be very competitive in this conference.
Good thing about weddington they took a hit to graduation. They are still good…..
But they aren’t half the team they were last season.
But after seeing crest over the summer and this past Friday. Crest isn’t as good as last season.
I think weddington is a 3 TD team better…. But I could care less about either honestly
When I saw this thread it reminded me of when Hough takes on Garinger. I had mentioned that could be the most mismatch High football history. Then I thought about Shelby n Highland Tech. lol

We will have to start Crest vs North Gaston thread or even Forestview. I believe HT beats both of them.
Going to Region play instead of conference play may would be something that would help a program like HT
Gotta admit, they should be thankful for Lincolnton and Stuart Cramer. Had to cut the homecoming games in half.
