Les Cason may have been number one flop. There was also Tillie from Philly. Cason was a Vitale recruit while Tillman was a Young recruit. Sellers was also a Vitale recruit. At times and in some publications Cason was they number one kid in the nation. If you have a Street and Smith from way back you can check it out.

mentioned here before, both RUbaseball and I knew Cason in high school, and I would have traded my future for his back then.....

Never saw but let me know if you recommend. God knows we have time on our hands.

GO RU

I never saw it either...just remembered there was some movie ("Cookout"?) that had a back story of the #1 NBA drafted player coming from Rutgers.

Now with Cliff it fold...anything is possible!~

Roy was pretty tall as a sophomore in HS. Saw him up close.
I thought he went from 6-6 or 6-7 to 6-9, but I could be wrong. In today’s recruiting game he probably doesn’t slip under the radar either way.

Roy was not a highly sought after or ranked recruit

Obviously a very different time, but where was Waliyy Dixon rated coming out of HS?

Also, remember Gary Waters brought in Cortez Davis before he got thrown out for fighting with a teammate? I think he was fairly highly rated in HS as well.

Tillman played for Camden I believe and transferred from Kentucky
Sellers the best recruit ever by far I would think.
As a freshman averaged more then 19 pts and 10 rebs

was wondering about Dixon as well. He was a pretty high local recruit at the time. But don’t think anywhere this high.
