You know valentine whether you like him or not calls a overly fouled "fair" game.

I agree with this. There's a difference between bad officiating and biased officiating. Bad officiating is just part of the game. It can be frustrating and make the game hard to watch sometimes, but it rarely reaches the point of costing one team a game.

What we saw Sunday was something that was far more orchestrated and straight from the Tim Donaghy playbook on how to manipulate game flow and score with the whistle -- only Higgins did a poor job this time of disguising it.

Let me make sure I understand this. Someone who is in charge of officiating watched that game and said, "hey, that guy there's doing a fine job." I'm really going to need someone in a position of authority to explain that to me because I've obviously gotten the whole rules of the game thing wrong after these 40 plus years of playing and watching.

And as crazy as things can seem in the NFL, I can assure you from having worked with NFL referees and discussing this with them on many occasions, someone with that level of ineptitude would be lucky to survive their first season as an official and they certainly wouldn't be working a playoff game.

The ESPN story says Higgins won't be working the championship game. My guess is he will be taking out Gonzaga in the semi-finals to clear UNC's path of the last #1 seed.

Maybe they're giving them this title to ease the sting of taking away 2005 and possibly 2009 as well. Roy can ride off into the sunset with a championship and avoid being fired when the hammer comes down.

Referees are basically two things. A. They are NON competitive ppl...thats why they are referees. They don't understand the gamesmanship, emotion involved, competitive back and forth/flow, and the will to win. They are referees just for that reason, it let's them think they are a part of something that they aren't good enough to be involved in. And B. They want to collect paychecks.

The ncaa will never have quality officials until they hire full time ones...the NBA is leaps and bounds better. Bc the NBA monitors them, kweps them in line, and gets rid of them if they suck. You ever see lebron, curry, Westbrook, sitting out a half bc of foul trouble? No. It's not bc they don't foul, it's bc the refs don't focus on bs that doesn't affect the game. They arent coming in with a focus to try to find obscure holds and hand checks, they don't blow whistles on calls that don't affect plays. They let players win and lose games.

Me too. I woke up several times last night dreaming about that game, and then spent an hour awake from 3-4 am running all of the possible scenarios through my head. What a mess...this is day 1 of usually about a week-long "WTF" that I think we all have to go through after such a tough loss for our Cats....ugh.

Crying Roy is good at leaving school's in trouble! I believe he left KU in a mess IF I'm not mistaken? Not really unreal. He did the job he was assigned to do. Not surprised that he was rewarded for it.
