I’m starting to look for a place to eventually retire to down there.....Near some bass lakes and no more than a couple hours from the beach.

Give up on the bass and start fishing inshore/near shore.

@ Devil ... recently started fishing again, this time on the bay. Went out (yesterday) off of Love Point and kept hooking up those stupid sting rays. They are strong and do put up a hell of a fight but pretty much just waste lures and time.

Move up to Swan Pt./Red 8 buoy or Tolchester/Rock Hall. Jigging the 13 ft line, we crushed it the other night. 3 over 30 inches with my big one being a 36.5. Heard Man O War is starting to heat up as well. There are a bunch of smallies at Mouth of the Mag But the bite is on if you want to just go real some stuff in.

Where are you fishing out of and what are you fishing on?

My retired neighbor has a nice 20-25 ft boat docked at Watergate Point Apts in Eastport. As mentioned, we’re both rookies so the learning curve is steep. Tried chumming yesterday and the fishfinder was loaded but only managed the rays.

I also rent small 15-17 foot whalers through MWR at Carr Creek but they don’t allow you to take them on the bay so my son & I just fish the severn and mouth of the severn. Recently got checked out in their Tahoe ski boat which is a blast on the bay.

There are a bunch of fishing groups on the FB. One of my very good friends runs the North Bay Fishing one. Lots of good info on there. Go talk to the guys at Anglers, if you’re going to chum, grab some fresh Alewives. They always have them. Makes a big difference. I drive down there for them when we chum over memorial weekend.

Tochtermans in downtown Baltimore is a fantastic place. Go see Rich Dennison. Good friend and extremely helpful. He will take the time to answer any questions you have. In 5 years he took me and my team from knowing jack and **** to being competitive in tournaments.

This time of year the bite is North Bay (bloody point and north). Coming out of the Severn, the Mouth of the Mag is pretty good. You’ll catch some shorts, but if you’re just starting, that’s a lot of fun. If you all want to make the run, it’s about 10 miles north to Swan Point. You’ll see the armada, find a spot and work your way in. Very active bite right now.

Most all of the guys I know and fish with are happy to share info. Let me know when you’re going out and what you’re going to do and I’ll throw you on the bite. I’m out of town the rest of this week and early next but I’ll be back out all of next weekend.

If you want PM me your contact info.
