I watched a video this morning ( unable to link article) & im asking you cause i believe you're an accountant, it stated that the irs gives 4 billion a year to illegal aliens on tax returns & they know its fraud but Congress wont do nothing about it , any truth to this ?

Not coop but yes it is well known that there are many that defraud the IRS through tax scams. I'm sure there are illegals that do it. It is a problem and the Congress needs to give more resources to battle it. I don't know what else you are expecting Congress to do but in America, there are a lot of people that attempt to con other people, financial institutions and the government among other things.
The 4 billion is just by Illegal immigrants...thats a year , see the problem? & it comes from claiming kids that live in another country. & the illegals dont care if they get caught cause the money is already in Mexico, & what they gonna do deport them?
Seems a easy fix ..dont give returns to ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS & use the 4 billion dollars on border security & that would help curb crime ...

Im well aware of that , but us legal citizens get fined , lose homes & go to jail & pay interest out the *** ...but we can come close to stopping the illegals
The IRS has had a ton of resources cut in the past 20 years with GOP leadership constantly giving away tax cuts and then cut spending. It is very hard for the IRS to fight against all the illegal tax filings done by everyone that does it. But don't be mistaken, effort is made.
When the IRS and FBI and other law enforcement catches fraud of this type, they prosecute. If they catch illegals, they are deported pretty quick as it is a federal crime and it is all kept within the federal system. Whatever you have in your mind may not be a fully educated perspective on the subject.
The IRS has been GUTTED for a decade now. They don't have the resources to fight fraud well. That said, they've made a push the last few years (goodbye taxpayer services!) and got it much more under control. I have no idea where you cam up with your numbers, but it sounds high for just illegals.
PS - Not all refunds to illegals would be fraud.
Coop, the number was on the video dont know if fake or not ....I find it just very wrong to even think about giving an illegal a tax return...maybe a return trip home ...
Everyone that works in the US needs to file a tax return....legal or not. Legal profession or not. Fraud is fraud and is a different animal. Tax fraud works me up like no other. Those found guilty should be kilt by firing squad.
And the IRS can't and doesn't have the resources even if allowed to make immigrant status determinations when processing tax returns. Not their responsibility.
Christ I couldn't get the f'ers to respond to me BEFORE this shutdown. 2019 should be an eventful year. They are woefully understaffed.
