Your Chicken Little thinking of no hope we are all gonna die is depressing. And your complete denial of Hydroxychloroquine Z Pack as hope for cure of symptoms is being disproven. A CEO of a company in Atlanta posted on LinkedIn that he had been hit with CV hard, admitted 2-3 days later and pumped full of everything and then he found he not only had double pneumonia, but he had become sepsis.

According to his story doctors felt he had little hope and tried the Hydroxychloroquine Z Pak treatment, and 3 days later he was making a full recovery and is so thankful his doctors used this anecdotal treatment. He is expected to leave hospital in a day or two with full recovery.

But keep pushing down ingenuity and compassionate care, and God forbid 3-4 small non FDA year long studies before using this treatment.

A sample size of one proves even less than a sample size of 30 or whatever it was from the French study. Let’s hope for good results, but not bank on them until we see the data.

Also, in the bad cases, blood of former Covid patients that recovered is being donated (several in NY) Former patients have an immunity and their plasma being tested for treatment.

Guys the point is people are all about millions will die and there is no hope. You can’t even try anecdotal medicines and rely on brilliant doctors. That IS our hope now and we cannot be the Chicken Little if the world. We are smart and will figure this out and we will get through this without our these worst case mass casualties.

the small trials with Hydroxychloroquine Z Pak have shown 100% improvement. And someone sayid in another thread something about you don’t know if it works or if it’s just that person’s immune system. They are giving this combo to the critically ill like the patient that posted it.

And just like the Plasma trial going on now this will save thousands of lives too, before some long FDA double blind placebo controlled trial. Believe in our experts.

1: I’m not sure why you think I’m rooting against this treatment. I’m a huge cheerleader hoping this or any of the other treatments work.

2: Cheerleading the results of a single patient, especially without sources, is irresponsible. People are going to recover like this with or without treatment. You need statistically significant results to say this is effective or not.

3: Why are you so emotional about proving one of many potential treatments is effective?

Look, we’re hoping this works just as much as you, but aren’t going to be convinced until we see some legitimate data to support that conclusion. Do you know how costly it would be if the pharma companies spend all the time and energy to scale up production of this drug only to find out it doesn’t work but something else like Remdesivir does? That’s what we want to avoid.

Your post are saying otherwise. You just keep saying things like quit putting false hope in a small trial and wait until there is a proven vaccine or FDA approved trial.
2: Cheerleading the results of a single patient, especially without sources, is irresponsible. People are going to recover like this with or without treatment. You need statistically significant results to say this is effective

Not cheerleading ONE result! That’s what you aren’t getting. It’s multiple patients in multiple trials in multiple countries. Last weekend the head of ICU at Lennox Hill hospital in NYC said he had put 100 patients, similar to the man I referenced, meaning all were critical, and 100 of them had mad or are making full recovery. Waiting on a 6 month trial of 1000 patients across multiple sites is good for new drugs, but not now. This is different and we must rely on anecdotal and smaller trials.

3: Why are you so emotional about proving one of many potential treatments is effective?
Because I want people to have hope, believe in the best healthcare system in the world, and know that this will be nowhere near the Apocalyptic end some are predicting.

remdesivir is working too just like Hydroxychloroquine and ZPak. It’s the same thing. I’m not latching on to just the one trial but many of these. They are all anecdotal and no one will be convinced totally after the long FDA controlled trials. But the dismissal of these anecdotal treatments is preposterous

A couple dudes on twitter saying something works is certainly preposterous. Fox and several other stations paraded a guy around talking about a treatment who oh, by the way, turned out to not be a doctor and not really associated with Stanford or Alabama while Google deleted his “paper”.

People are taking advantage of fear and people’s need for hope for their own interests.

Let doctors and scientists do their work.

Stop overeating. I've never talked about Hydroxychloroquine. So don't spread fake news.

Seriously. I've haven't talked pro or con for it. I don't think I've mentioned it at all. I haven't read enough on it tbh. I try not to comment on something until I have done some homework and I haven't for this. What little headlines I've seen look promising. I am glad they are using it on people

Stop panicking though. Seriously chill.....and stop spreading fake news about me.

This! What’s wrong with hope and prayers that we have scientists and doctors zeroing in on a possible answer? I don’t know if these methods are the answer but I’m not gonna give up on the thoughts that we could see these doctors are on to something. At this point hope is so important. I love the possibility of a positive in a truly negative situation.

Here are some new results from the French study by Dr. Raoult

And that French study also had several peer review issues. There was a Chinese study that found no statistically significant difference between the treated group and control group. I have zero confidence in either study, which is why we’re doing trials in NYC and other places.

I don’t understand what you people want. Are you bots sent to spread misinformation? Are your accounts hacked? Why do you want to argue about this?

“Men in general are quick to believe that which they wish to be true.” - Gaius Julius Caesar

Everyone just wants to convince themselves that the cure has been found and it’s just FDA red tape that’s holding it up. That’s completely understandable, but it doesn’t change the fact that there needs to be some definitive evidence to back up any anecdotal claims of effectiveness before the drug is relied upon.

I’m lost. Who’s arguing? Some believe there is a possibility of a potential to find answers based off a few drugs. The thing is while an answer may not be found on these couple studies they can also lead to further answers that may solve this terrible situation. No not a bot,not spreading misinformation just someone seeing the potential for answers based on the tests being done

Maybe cure? Well, no good data. Can we say cure anyway, just raise hopes? Sure, but problem is cure may not really be cure and in meantime people place false hope and disregard effective countermeasures.

Im not arguing studies need to be done. I totally agree. Personally I think the answer may be found in a variation of these treatments being pursued. But I think scientists and doctors are on to something or studies wouldn’t be continuing in multiple countries with close to the same protocol.
I’m not spreading that there’s an answer just saying I feel hopeful we have doctors that are on to something. I’m praying and hopeful. How is that misinformation??

The main peer review issue with the French study is that there’s no control group. Scientifically it’s not correct because you need a control group but do you really want to be the ******* that doesn’t give medicine to someone who’s possibly going to die from Covid19? Hopefully some of the trials in New York will give us some more answers.

Is there anyone who doesn't see or denies there is potential? Of course, not. There are some here who simply have a better grasp of how science and pharmaceutical research works than you.

That's not a knock - most don't have this grasp because they've never had to and I sure as heck didn't learn about it in my T Th at 9am Plants & Humans class as a freshmen at State.

Exactly, it's not about hope, it's about science. Let the scientists do the work and they'll eventually find a vaccine and treatment. In the meantime, stay at home and away from people to slow down the spread.

There are some new results from the French trial. 80 patient clinical trial.

93% tested negative after in 8 days. 97.5% had no virus in lungs after 5 days.

https://twitter.com/MichaelCoudrey/status/1243734377198018560

Link included with abstract if anyone wants to read it.

Also notice the person you are referencing has this in his bio:

“ Michael Coudrey has made significant contributions to the digital media efforts in United States politics, offering social media and "digital information warfare" services to political candidates across the country”

The other promoter of this stuff, Gregory Rigano, has been exposed as a fraud.

This stuff might work, but all this social media stuff people are referencing have political motivations.

Another thread was about trying to figure out what was news and what was not. These people are not news.

Some of y'all need to realize WE GET IT ABOUT THE HOPE and think it is wonderful and like talking about that, too. You realize there is actual science already behind this treatment, yes? If it were ALL about hope, we might as well start sacrificing chickens, doing wellness dances, and singing kumbya or however it's spelled. I hope I spelled it right.*

For the record, keep giving the combo to people. No one is saying not to. Slang it, bubba. Just don't be surprised when the physician giving it out refers to it as "an experimental treatment we've had some success with."

I agree with you.

It’s about striking balance. Anyone with a loved one in the hospital/ICU needs hope. If it’s me or someone in my family is in that situation, I want the treatment to be HCQ or Remdesivir, if only for additional hope. If those aren’t available, let’s go to nitric oxide & on down the list of treatments with any anecdotal evidence they may work.

On the flip slide, the first US based preliminary HCQ and Remdesivir studies should be wrapping up data collection in less than a month and have a preliminary report available in May. I’m sure progress will leak before then to give an idea how this is going.

For any physicians out there treating COVID19 patients (in case you were not aware), the HCQ study recruitment is nation-wide. If you would like information for enrolling a patient in the study, email: [email protected].

We all know you are only doing this because you don't want people to underestimate this terrible virus. It's ok to admit it. It's also ok to acknowledge that the medical community is figuring this **** out. You keep being the glass half empty guy. We will choose to have some hope and optimism , stopping short of Pollyanna-ism, because we know it's still serious, even if you and Deadhead don't think we are taking it serious enough.

All this guy did was report the findings from an abstract of a study directly from the French doctor. That's it. I don't know anything about Michael Coudrey. A quick perusal of his timeline shows he is a big proponent of the use of HCQ. That doesn't change the results he cited.

I'm not saying this proves it works and we are home free. You stated it might work. It might not. Time will tell. It is just more information from an ongoing study. Have a good day.

The problem is the definition of "scientist". I have very little faith (almost none) in the "academics"who populate universities and government agencies... they are never held accountable for wrong predictions and computer models. They produce nothing but fear. They have jobs and fat pensions for life. Give me private sector scientists who are expected to be right or they won't have a job. The treatments will come from the private sector due to competition and while some government agency may say they are responsible because they "approved" it...the actual work and solution was created in the private sector.
