I actually think BTN has fantastic overall coverage. The color guys usually know details of every team (even Rutgers!) instead of just picking up some small fact from the media guy. They actually watch the games. I’ve been watching the post game show and they’ve mentioned Rutgers a lot, so not sure why the guff
they are talking about RU the last couple of minutes. Honestly saying that Pike is nice man and Izzo saying he is a tremendous coach is a bit insulting, its as if they say that RU should even ever be competing with Sparty...how many years do we have to hear this
Izzo saying that Pikes is a great coach is insulting? Watching more BTN right now and Izzo just said he’s an outstanding coach. I don’t feel insulted.
Izzo in his presser is gushing about Pike. It’s not coach speak. You can see he has a ton of respect for his coaching abilities. More than he probably should given he’s never lost to him.
It's one million percent coach speak. Go look up what he said about Eddie. He does this for every single coach.
Yup. Izzo is a hall of fame coach so he doesn’t need to pander. However, building up the coach you just beat just makes yourself look even better. Also, Pike isn’t going to bring in blue chip recruits so he’d love to see him last forever.
Yea I don’t buy anything nice Izzo says. Go watch his presser from lat season at the RAC. He was totally dismissive of the Rutgers team and gave them no credit
because he is saying it in a condescending way....as if Rutgers can actually compete with my fable Michigan State. It demeans RU basketball when everyone including BTN analysts rave about the coaching job, its not about Pike, its about their attitude that RU is expected to be the doormat. It works for the first season or two but by year 4 its so backhanded
Guess the guy can’t win. Last year he was dismissive, this year he’s condescending. Tough room.
