Happy for Herro and love how the kid played. Not once did I see him pout or show disdain to the coaching staff. We need more Herro's at Kentucky. Thank you Herro for coming to Kentucky you definitely made a positive impact and wishing you the very best in your NBA career!

He's gone. His strengths will always be shooting and competitiveness. He's shown enough that you can be confident he'll be a 40%+ three point shooter, and the competitiveness is already there. His weaknesses will always been length and not being an overwhelming athlete. That's not changing with another year at Kentucky. Thanks Tyler. You're a bucket.

Yeah, in the thread about Keldon I basically said the same thing, Herro's ceiling in the draft is only going to high just based on potential and athletic ability. There are potentially three kids on UK's roster next year that could go lotto just based on raw athletic ability, Whitney, EJ and Maxey, hell maybe Brooks as well.

Wished , for my own rooting interest , that he would stick another year to get in the lottery , but those choices around here are like pipe dreams. It used to LOTTERY pick , I'm gone , now it's I'm somewhere in the 1st round .. I'm gone . Just feels like a rotating door .
Better delete this real quick before the mob with pitch forks come barking. Apparently, any UK fan wanting fringe 1st round/2nd round players back at UK for our own personal rooting interest is looked down upon these days. Some of the people need to get their head out of their ***. If we lose more than 3, we are not a title contender next year. You’re “brain dead” though if you share the same sentiment. But ultimately, you’re right @ManitouDan. We don’t have the players coming in to get over the hump without some returning experienced talent. Here’s to hoping that Herro or KJ will make a better decision than Lamb, Teague, Gabriel, etc. made and come back to further their mind, body, and game to help both themselves AND UK!

I really was hoping one of Herro or Johnson would be returning. But I also understand they cost us against AU and I thought PJ missing FT's against K State last year cost us. So when he return I thought he would push us to the FF. It wasn't the case and he's way better than KJ and Herro, so we don't miss much by them leaving.

Question: Do the new rules allow a player to actually enter the draft, then withdraw if not drafted in the position they wanted and go back to college? If so, that seems to be tough on the teams doing the drafting.

hes gone guys. ncaaky is spot on. keldon and tyler will both keep their names in the draft. if cal doesn't land rj Hampton cal will roll with Hagans, maxey, quickly and baker. is what it is. hope I'm wrong but 99.9 % sure I'm not. I can see cal adding 2 more.

You told us last week Baker was going to UCLA because they were hiring Earl Watson. If you want to be an insider you have to do more than follow Kyle Tucker on twitter.

We go through this every year,Kevin Knox waited till the last minute last year so I'm not sure why some of you freak out over this. It's a big decision for the kids and their family. But I honestly think they enjoy their time here and enjoy the college life.Face it,they are treated like rock stars. All We can do,as fans,is wait.

He’s been trying to be an insider for years. His legendary post about Murray to Oregon was epic. Stated that Cal was pissed at Nike for sending Murray to Oregon.

I remember that one. Losing the gold shield seems to have less people believing him, finally.

Also, Texas Tech definitely wasn’t a title contender this past season.
Disagree with this. They started at least 4 graduate transfer seniors that had been through the wars of college basketball. They were ranked top 8-12 damn near all year and they were ranked as such in the NCAA. They were more of a title contender than they were a dark horse.

Even if TH has less than stellar workouts for teams, they will see his motor. Thats really his main upside to me. He just brings so much energy. Of all the pluses that he would bring to the Cats next year, that energy is whats most needed.. that rubs off on the new guys and motives all the upper class-men. Who has that motor and energy next year if Tyler goes? I think hes gone unless there are a bunch of good European players that we know nothing about an they push him down the list a bit.

That might have flown right over your head. Or maybe you think Kentucky only has a top 10-15 kind of roster next year? Because to have nothing more than Elite Eight dreams, that’s the kind of roster you’re talking about.

Shouldn't be. With the new rule, EVERYONE will "test the waters." It would be stupid not to and miss out on the feedback from NBA personnel regardless of whether the player goes or comes back.
Hagans isn’t testing the waters. Tre Jones isn’t testing the waters. It is the best process only if you are a projected first round/VERY early second round pick. Otherwise, agents are in your ear, friends are in your ear, and family are in your ear to “go get the money” “you’re good enough” when in reality, they need more time. That’s the risk when they sign with an agent. When they sign, I automatically assume they’re gone.

I know pj missed free throes but where knox and sga, Hami and wenyen, quade? Missed ft are what they are but the disappearence act of two lottery picks affected the game more than ft, but that is what people rather remember. It was a lot, but he was the only person able to almost score...

Hagans AAU coach called into Kentucky Roll Call yesterday and said the reason Hagans didnt test the waters is because through Cal and that AAU coach.... they already got the info they needed from the NBA. there was no need to test the waters any further.

i'm mean you gotta score, no one is guarding you. FREE all he needed to do was make just half those.

This program went to the IT school to losing to 5 seed IU K State little AU.

That’s exactly what I’m talking about. It will be much the same as this year but with a little less talent. Finish 2-4 in the SEC, top 3-4 seed in the NCAA, but ultimately failing to reach a Final Four or bring home a championship without RETURNING EXPERIENCED TALENT. Honestly, what is so hard to understand about this?

Hagans is fine, but he’s not the right piece we need back. We have someone to replace him in Quickley and Maxey. We don’t have anyone coming in that can make up for a Sophomore Herro’s production. Get your head out of the sand man. We haven’t had a Final Four since we had top 5 players coming in WITH experienced talent returning. The last championship we had was top 5 players WITH key talented experience returning (Lamb, Jones, Miller). Do you notice a trend here or does it fly right over your head? Elite 8’s and 30 win seasons are fine and dandy but ultimately, no one remembers second place (besides 2015 because 38-0).

If he’s projected to go top 20, can you really fault him? He will be getting guaranteed MULTIPLE millions. I can’t fault someone for leaving it they are securely in the 1st round of the NBA draft (as Herro is)

Hagans likely means more coming back. Herro and KJ can't guard a lick. If I had to pick one of the 3 it would be Hagans.

No, not really Frank . In Tylers case I think its possible he pulls D league time as he matures , and theres some risk in losing money long term , but the short term payoff is near impossible not to take . Today's reality sucks for college hoops fans
