The way it has been handled overall. Also Mississippi State will be to Joe Moorehead what TSUN was to Coach O. I think O learned at TSUN to maybe take it down a notch. Morehead has to have learned that he has to be more of a hard *** to coach in this league. I don't think Joe does great things in the SEC but I think the guy will learn from this and be one hell of a coach somewhere. I say good luck to the guy and I wish it could have worked out but the way discipline was handled this year from the outside looked pathetic

We must being thinking of two different Ed Orgerons because the one I know has most definitely not "taken it down a notch."

what have you seen other than saquon barkley terrorizing big 10 defenses, that gives you any confidence that moorhead has the ability to run a successful offense? this past year's offense was the most bland offense ive seen since croom and that is a legitimate croom comparison.

Granted ultimately I think another deal has to already be done for us to fire Joe. You have to probably already at least have Hud in your back pocket right? Is this waiting to announce the next guy just out of respect for Joe and all others involved?

It always amazes me how much hand wringing and pearl clutching goes on over "optics" and "the look" when our modern media is nothing but a bunch of hyenas waiting to pounce. There's no pleasing them. They roasted us for firing Croom for goodness sake and that turned out just fine.

It was handled poorly & should have been done 5 weeks ago, but the bottom line is it was done. And, if Napier really is the guy we wanted, we got lucky that no one else hired him last month. I’m happy today.

Don’t really care what Moorhead does in the future.

A lot of it sucks.

Sucks that he didn't work out like everyone hoped he would 2 years ago.
Sucks that I've wasted time and money to watch our team underachieve for 2 seasons.
Sucks having 10% of your team suspended most of the season for an academic scandal.
Watching the Outback bowl in the blazing sun last year sucked.
Watching the Music City bowl in the cold wind Monday night sucked.

I could go on... there's been a lot of suckage.

But firing moorhead - that does not suck.

Fixed it for you.

It was handled poorly & should have been done 5 weeks ago at the end of last season, or at least after the UT game, but the bottom line is it was done. And, if Napier really is the guy we wanted, we got lucky that no one else hired him last month just about anybody would be an improvement. I’m happy today.

Don’t really care what Moorhead does in the future.

☝🏻Guy gets it. Heck, Saquon Barkley is terrorizing NFL Defenses playing for a Bad Coach and Bad team.

Firing a head coach after just two years is never ideal for anyone, I agree with that part. However, when referring to the way it was "handled", ask yourself this... What caused MSU administration to handle things this way?

The answer... Tutorgate, failing to meet on the field expectations, a complete cluster of a QB rotation, team fights, and a second straight embarrassing bowl loss. In other words, all things either caused directly by Moorhead or else under his watch, and it's been said many times that while bowl games typically don't mean much, this one meant a lot to Joe. In that opportunity, his team was once again miserably unprepared for the opposition, and he blew it.

If you think he's going to be a great head coach somewhere, that's fine, but the bottom line is that it wasn't going to happen here. Hindsight is 20/20 and all that, but it was a terrible fit for MSU

Ehhh, did you follow his tenure at Ole Miss? Did you not hear the stories that came out about him while he was there? The first time he met with the team he tore his shirt off and invited anyone that thought they were man enough to come and fight him. Then all of the 'Wild Boyz' ****. He has definitely taken it down a notch.
