So you need an explicit quid pro quo.
You mean like they have on video where Biden is beating his chest about using the aid threat to get the prosecutor fired? Looks like and your friends feel that was ok because you believe the prosecutor was corrupt.......another laughable moment.

I'm in favor of results. Impeachment based solely on this screams of political bias, whether his intent was to get a personal favor or not. I have an opinion, but that's not grounds for impeachment. If it doesn't have teeth, it's easily painted as a political stunt. If it's painted as a political stunt, then we become more divided than we are now. We saw that with Clinton's impeachment. Did he break the law? Yep. Was it technically an impeachable offense? Apparently so. Making that move did nothing but sully the reputation of the President. It didn't advance anything. Making the same move based only on this transcript would be following that same path, and I see it as a bad one. Do the work, build a case. The House is full of attorneys, so this should be easy for them.

The Ukrainians are free to investigate Ukrainian issues. I've provided the reason why Joe's demand that the prosecutor be removed wasn't a move to protect his son. If anything, it definitely put his son's employer is a worse spot. Nothing was being investigated with repect to Burisma by Shokin. He was in Zelenskiy's pocket.

I gave a historical example of this happening in the past. I'm not saying it happened here. I'm saying that we've seen it happen before. Trusting a transcript alone is probably not the best idea. Let's see the IG report at least.

And you want me to trust climate data from 1880...pretty funny

At this point they don't have the evidence they had for Clinton...key word being 'yet'. They may or may not ever get anything more.

You tried to use a tainted proof source. We don't know what they were/were not investigating, but we do know that within a week that HB was employed as a Board Member, J. Biden asked the Ukraine to increase gas production, which would have benefited his son...Can you at least confirm that?
Tainted source? They quote a deputy prosecutor general at the time, Kasko, about the status of the investigation. He's now the first deputy prosecutor general. I'dd say that's a reasonable source. We have to go to the Ukrainians to find out what the Ukrainians were doing at the time. What source are you going to trust, Rudy? What was he doing in 2014 & 2015? Considering a run for president if I remember correctly. I don't think he has insider knowledge of active Ukrainian investigations at that time.

I'm not disagreeing. The problem with the Clinton issue was that they caught him in a lie that really only impacted a civil case against him and his relationship with his wife. It was absolutely wrong. It was absolutely illegal. Something that would require he be removed from office? Meh. It looked political.

The President of the United States asking a foreign leader to do him a favor (politically) as a condition to sell his country weapons they need for defense is weak what? This is now acceptable behavior for past and future Presidents?

Are you sure you guys wouldn't rather the King still be in charge of us?

I think that started us down this divided partisan path. We need to get back to the idea that we are two sides working toward the same overarching goal, not 2 teams pitted against each other.

Where, in the transcript, did he talk about military aid (sell weapons)? It was never mentioned. Where did you see that?

Meh. I think it's fairly easy to say that Clinton did not live up to the office of the President of the United States of America. Impeachment is not about laws.

Also, have you linked the part about Obama asking a foreign government to investigate his political rivals?

Here is a summary......I'll let you find the link.....we'll see how interested you really are:

In his own words, with video cameras rolling, Biden described how he threatened Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in March 2016 that the Obama administration would pull $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees, sending the former Soviet republic toward insolvency, if it didn’t immediately fire Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.

“I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion.’ I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,’” Biden recalled telling Poroshenko.

“Well, son of a *****, he got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time,” Biden told the Council on Foreign Relations event, insisting that President Obama was in on the threat.

Interviews with a half-dozen senior Ukrainian officials confirm Biden’s account, though they claim the pressure was applied over several months in late 2015 and early 2016, not just six hours of one dramatic day. Whatever the case, Poroshenko and Ukraine’s parliament obliged by ending Shokin’s tenure as prosecutor.

Bottom of page 2, top of page 3.

This? At best, you might attempt to say he implied it, but you'll need more than this....

The President: Well it's very nice of you .to say that. I will say that we do ·a lot for Ukraine. We spend a lot of effort and a lot.of time. Much more than the European countries are ·'doing and they should be helping.you more than.they are. Germany does almost nothing for you. All they do is talk and I think it's something that you should ·really ask them about. When I.was· ·speaking to Angela Merkel she talks Ukraine, but she ·doesn't do· anything. A lot of the European countries are the. same way· so I think it's.something you want to look at but the United States has been very ·very good to Ukraine. I wouldn't say that it's reciprocal necessarily because things are happening that are not good but the United States has been very very . good to Ukraine.

The· President: I would like you to do us a favor though because our country has been through a lot and Ukraine knows a lot about it. I would like you to find out what happened with this whole situation with Ukraine, they say Crowdstrike ... I guess you have one of your weal thy people... The server, they say Ukraine has it. There are a lot. of things that went on, the· :whole situation .. I think you're surrounding yourself with some of the same people. I would like to have the Attorney General call you or your people and I would like you to ·get to the bottom of it. As you saw yesterday, that whole nonsense ended with a very poor performance by a man named Robert Mueller, an incompetent performance, but they. say a lot of it started with Ukraine. Whatever you can do, it's very important that you do it if that's possible.

What's your threshold.....politician expediencies?
Treason, bribery, or high crimes and misdemeanors. I think the second a President obstructs justice is impeachable. I think the President of the United States of America asking a foreign governments to investigate a political rival (even without explicit quid pro quo) is impeachable. I think the President of the United States of America enriching himself on the taxpayers dime is impeachable.

I could probably go on and on. I'll stick to those 3. One of which a special counsel spelled out. One the President openly admitted. And the other I suspect, but have no proof. Just an opinion I have.

I was specifically looking at what Trump said....But...Still nothing.

President Zelenskyy: Yes you are·absolutely right. not .only 100%, but actually 1000% arid I can tell you the following; I did talk to Angela Merkel and I did meet.with her. I also met and talked with Macron and I told them that they are not doing quite as much as they need to be doing·on the issues with the sanctions. They are not enforcing the sanctions. They are not working as much as . they should work for Ukraine. It turns out that even though logically, the European Union should be our biggest· partner but technically the United States is a much bigger partner than.the European Union and- I'm very grateful to you for that because the United States is doing quite a· lot for Ukraine. Much more than the European Union especially when we are talking about sanctions against the Russia,n Federation. r· · would also like to thank you·for.your great support in the area of defense. . We. are ready to continue to cooperate for the next steps. specifically we a·re almost. ready to buy more Javelins from ·_ the United· States for defense purposes ..

President Zelenskyy: Yes it is. very important for me and everything that you just mentioned earlier. For me as a President,-· it is very important and we are open for any future cooperation. We are ready to· open a new page on cooperation in . relations between the United· States and Ukraine.· For that· purpose, I just recalled our.ambassador from United States and he will be replaced by a very competent and very experienced ambassador who will work hard on making sure that our two nations are getting closer. I would also like and hope to see him having your trust and your .confidence and have personal relations·with you so we can cooperate even more so. I will personally tell you that one· of my assistants· spoke with Mr. Giuliani just.recently and we are hoping very much that Mr. Guliani will be able to travel to Ukraine and. we will meet once · he comes to Ukraine. I just wanted to assure you once again_that you _have nobody but friends around-us. I w.ill make sure -that-I surround myself with the best and most experienced people._ I also· wanted to ·tell you that we are friends. We are great· friends and you Mr. President have. friends -in our country so we can continue our strategic partnership. I also plan to surround · myself with great people ·and in addition to that investigation, I guarantee as the President of Ukraine that all the investigations.will be done openly and candidly .. That I can assure you ..

You can couple it with his own statements - he confessed to withholding funds from them...and said he would do it again (which I'm sure he would if given the opportunity).
How do you couple it with his own statements? Nothing anyone said about what was in the call adds or subteacts from the transcript of the actual call. The transcript is the record.

So, you have zero problem with Trump asking Ukraine to investigate his opponent in the 2020 election, is that correct? Requesting a foreign country do an investigation on an individual running against him for President. You are perfectly fine with that, correct?
