I have only watched them a couple times but I would say the defense is a little better than some of the previous teams and the offense might be slightly less explosive.
This is a scouting report of my opinion I gave to a friend on here of Hendersonville based on a game I watched. "Hendersonville isn't overly big. Their lineman look more like watauga lineman. Tall and athletic not fat pot belly. Not as good as watauga lineman. Don't look like they impose their will either. QB is thick and throws a nice ball. Not scary with his feet he may run but not gonna kill ya with it. Not shifty or fast. Defense not that tough they get pushed along the front line. Don't see a lot of speed. Honestly it looks like MTN heritage pushed them around and was more physical. I think y'all are more athletic and fast. I would use Mayfield to pound the middle then hit them with Lynch deep keep them off kilter and unsteady. On defense I'd send pressure on QB he's not gonna kill u with his feet. With y'all's speed I'd cover WR close no cushion and try to jump pass. And keep RB #4 contained between tackles don't let him get outside"

About Hendersonville, remember the last time we played them. Third round of the state playoffs 2016, they came here. There were 116 points scored in that game. They scored 44 of them, 6 touchdowns and extra points and a safety, I’m thinking. Every time they would score their band would strike-up The Beer Barrel Polka,” (Roll out the barrel). Heard that ‘til I was sick of hearing it. They’re a tough bunch.
There is a Lincolnton alumnus that teaches school in Henderson County. When I asked him if that was they’re version of a fight song, he said no, it was a tribute to Lincolnton culture…He’ a real smart aleck.

Looking forward to this matchup. Teams seem pretty similar. Gotta limit mistakes and win the turnover battle.
I think Lin will win this game because Hendo is not very good on the line . They cannot beat Lin in shootout

A co-worker of mine works in the Lincolnton press box. I told him that round 2 might be tough but I think if the Wolves play the way we know they can, they should be fine. Pulling for you guys!
In our newspaper 2 out of 3 of our sports guys picked Lincolnton by narrow margins…All picked Burns to win by decisive numbers…all went for Shelby in a close game…all picked Cramer over Bandys but only by a point or two…All 3 picked West Lincoln to lose to Mountain Heritage by 7-21 points.
Need some new sports guys, some homers

I’ve heard that the Albany (#5) for Hendo quit this week. If that’s true that’s a massive loss.
I hope not, we want everyone’s best shot/ Best players. I hope both teams are healthy tonight. I heard my wolves are full strength.
Hendersonville, is obviously a passing team. Just saw on MaxPreps stats, that Mountain Heritage held them to 59 yards rushing. Not insinuating we could do the same, but it would surely help to keep the run to a minimal and let us focus on their passing.
I don’t know. It’s just the word going through the locker room. Perhaps to focus on basketball , perhaps something personal , perhaps just an unfounded rumor. It’s just what I heard through some of the Heritage boys.

Thought Hendersonville matched us in every aspect. They are a passing team but can run it, too. They came in fired-up and never lost their momentum. Quarterback Ward is one of the best I've seen, all season, with the pass.
In the first half, we would score, then they would tie us. THEN, they pulled ahead of us for what seemed like the longest time, and were about to go up two scores, until Lincolnton's M. Thompson intercepted a pass in the end zone, which gave us a spark and letting us tie things up as the half ended.
Both teams made adjustments, with each scoring once in the final two quarters. Not sure if the ball was bobbled or if there was a low snap, but their extra-point attempt failed, which would leave us with a one point lead and would ultimately decide the game.
They gave a great effort, and so did our guys. Congratulations to the Wolves and hats of to the Bearcats.

I am sure the kids like the new white look, but I am a traditionalist and like the Black and Tweety Bird Yellow (gold) Lincolnton uniforms and helmets. I was told that the Lincolnton original concept was supposed to be old gold (think Shelby's color scheme), but an ordering mishap in the first half of the 20th Century gave us the more yellow color scheme with the black. Mr. Lincolnton was probably there when it happened and can confirm this story or not.
