....Living in Northern KY most of my life, the only time I really paid any attention to this guy was in rooting for Xavier to beat UC in the Crosstown Shootout. Once that game ended, so did 99% of my attention to either team.
A friend of mine told me that in becoming Loserville's coach, that should be enough to hate the guy.

...I'm just not there yet. I'm not even at the dislike level yet, because I just don't have a real reason for it. The guy even wore a blue shirt to his formal event in being named Loserville's new coach (hilarious). They had him change shirts before the cameras were rolling, supposedly.

If anyone can provide some good actual reasons to view this new Loserville coach accordingly, please let me know.

I know the guy and his wife pretty well. And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you can't meet a nicer guy. And his wife is a lovely lady

I hope his comments after we beat UL will help change your mind,

It's been posted but this was an easy answer for me. He coaches the red devil birds.

I don't dislike the man. But I still hate UL so I will be rooting for him to struggle. I have a feeling he will say something about UK over the next few years that will make UK fans dislike him.

I dont hate chris mack and honestly that doesnt bode well for louisville. I dont want my rivals fans not hating my coach. I want coach cal to be public enemy #1 to louisville fans, and he is.

If the team he coaches ever wins the fans of that team will act as if they own the state and he is the best coach in the state. Even if he loses to the other team in the state that has a tradition much greater multiple times before that happens.

I can't dislike him. Not yet, anyway. I live in the Cincy area and have never heard a bad thing about him. Always seems to be centered and takes the high road with his public statements. Reminds me a little of Cal, actually.

I always like Xavier better than UC (living in Cincinnati). I always liked Mack and I have met a few of their players and they are all super nice. It's tough for me to hate him as well.

Is it bad to say I'm going to miss Rick?

Pitino was an easy enemy. Arrogant, delusional, and always taking shots at UK and Cal. For me, I don't hate Chris Mack. he's given me nothing to hate him. It will be like when Crum coached there. I want UL to lose every game they play but I don't hate their coach.

In order for him to gain the UL fans support he will HAVE to be vocally anti UK to the point of being a jerk. Goes with the territory. Just give it a little time. He will go down that road sooner rather than later.

Huge Mack fan. I live 20 minutes from Cincy and there were 3 occasions where I walked into Xavier’s practice at the Cintas Center with my young kids to observe. No one ever asked us to leave and the coaches were always cool with it.

Coach Powder will say something this summer or the days leading up to the game next season that will make you want to dislike him. He needs to realize this is not UC he is poking here. Cal will beat that *** by 50 if given the chance.

Anyone that goes to Louisville or coaches Louisville is instantly on my dislike list. That’s all the reason I need. One of my best friends from high school went there to play basketball, & 2 of my good friends went there to play golf. They knew how I felt. I told them all that I thought that was a horrible choice. I thought they were idiots. We’re still friends, but we don’t talk sports.

If he has any success at U6, it will be a slurpfest with Zipp and company.

....what's funny about that is that zippy has been bad mouthing every decision Tyra has made, so I doubt he currently doesn't have much faith in Mack. If those clowns manage to win A game against UK in the next 4-5 years, watch how quickly zippy pulls a 180 and talks about Mack being the new "master".

So I can go scout UL and send cal videos of practices? Nice

He left a respectable well-paying job to go to a cesspool- just for money. We chastise kids we care about that play hard for us- Many who come from little or nothing- and leve for money to start their career, but can’t find any fault when a coach does it? He may be a great guy, have great character and ethics, but at the end of the day he did leave kids who committed to him to chase fame and $.
I really don’t have an issue, but what our players do is so much more admirable and justified. If we are going to be upset with them we should be just as judgmental here.

That and the fact he is the coach of U6 pretty much does it for me.

So did Cal. And who wouldnt leave to take a sum that would set your family up for generations. Almost ALL coaches leave for the money. You would too.

I don't understand why anyone would ask for help to dislike.

There are enough things that we dislike already.

There are football and basketball programs that exposure to haters has rubbed off on me.

When I moved to Atlanta I went to a lot of MLB games. The Braves were lousy. It was easy to get in and get out -- and excellent seats. It was relatively inexpensive.

But they suddenly became an excellent team and I was turned off by their ignorant (at the time) fans and their announcers.

So...I missed decades of occasional pleasure while the Braves would win all summer and the Reds would struggle.

I hope to find more things to like.

I love the guy because he kicked Mick Cronin's *** consistently.

I never disliked Denny Crum when he coached at U6. Doesn't lessen my disdain for the school. Really wish UK would stop playing them every year and put them on a rotation with EKU, WKU, NKU, and Morehead.

I think we are entering a new and as yet undefined era with UL(at least in basketball) who knows how fast they can regain some bit of being a competitive program.I think it is at least 3 or 4 years away. They were decent last year but probably won't be that good again for a few years. They could be Pitt bad next year.

It probably won’t. This ‘rivalry’ is more than likely going to back to the days before Pitino.

This is the way it should have always been, including football too.
