help ID'ing a snake

[Pookieray]

I believe it to be a king snake but have never seen one quite like this. Has more of a white diamond pattern mixed with its dark coloration. Was really really large. Over 4' long.

Same as the other Rat Snake someone asked about last week.

I have seen two Speckled King Snakes in my yard this past week.

That is weird, I saw a speckled king on my front porch just a week ago for the first time ever, and a buddy of mine saw one as well. He lives 100 miles away.

Just a coincidence, or are there more of these around now? I had literally never seen one, didn't recognize it, and when I tried to pin him down, he rared up at me and rattled his tail enough that I let him go. Wish I had known what it was at the time, I would have shown him where the mice live.
