I'm going with purple and white.
The Outback Bowl tweet had NU in traditional helmets. You might think, but I think we've worn four or five different helmets this year. Practicing in the purple helmets, but could very well be white or black tomorrow.
Hate it. Where is the "N"?????? Looks like a Bama helmet in purple.
It is.Probably on the other side.
I like the idea of the Chicago flag. Nice nod to the city we desire to represent and have come on board. That could be a regular thing if it looks right. The number is ok, hope the N or cat head is on the other side. It at least could be a gothic numeral.
Why can't we just stick with our damn uniforms? We went through all the trouble to create them, and we piss on them at every opportunity! I bet we are the ONLY team running from our basic uniform on NYD. Everybody else is proud of their and understands that that's their brand. I don't see Clemson or OK f'ing with their uniforms. I fricking GUARANTEE Alabama won't do it. Neither will MSU. What makes US want to do it? The idiocy of this astounds me.
Very strong feelings about something completely inconsequential.
MSU? They have had a number of different combos this season. And, Thatkid drives the point home...NU isn't doing it to piss old folks off. They're doing it to create a more attractive product for recruits. Assuming you're not being actively recruited, Stupor?
Also completely incorrect.
I honestly prefer all the different uniforms by northwestern. It's more suited for a younger crowd having different designs but there are kids that will say northwestern had sweet uniforms against so and so. It creates conversation uniforms are a part of sports talk. This is just a high schoolers perspective but alternative uniforms are very cool.

And that's ok for non-con or games that need a little oomph...
But when it mattered, what did MSU wear on the big stage last night with a gazillion eyeballs on them? If that was an alternative uniform, it was a stupid little tweak you couldn't notice if you tried. Clemson looked like Clemson. Bama looked like Bama. Oklahoma looked like Oklahoma. And MSU looked like MSU.
if they tweaked any of those uniforms it was totally unnoticeable and was simply to fleece chumps who will buy anything. They maintained their look and their brand. They didn't run from them. They didn't put on a disguise.
What was incorrect? is there ANYTHING about this program a toadie like you won't defend? We change uniforms like its a damn Celine Dion concert. Our standard uniform is awesome but we never fricking wear it!!
It's a fact.
Think for yourself for a change- if you can. Your nose is so far up this program's backside it's scary. Now go get Fitz his H20..or go and get your shine box. Take your pick.

There are a lot of teams who have used alternative helmets this bowl season. Asserting that we are the only team that "runs from its uniform" is patently untrue.
I don't mind the alternative Uni's once and a while, but I've been a fan a long time and I can't even tell you what the standard uniform is. I thought it was the NU strip across the chest which complements the football physique while upholding a tradition and the N on the helmet which is distinctive and clear. Yes?
I think the Gothic look connects to the campus and has an edge I would think would appeal to the younger generation. The Chicago Flag on the helmet intrigues me, it could be a shoulder patch as well and I really liked the arch on the helmet in then gothic uni's.
I.m not nuts about the helmet with the number on it because it isn't very cool looking or traditional, so on a big exposure day we get neither good branding or good style points.
Or just possibly that is what is trending with the youth and that this very likely a recruiting tactic for recruits. I mean I'm a senior in high school would be about the age of kids northwestern is trying to bring into the football program. I mean that might be a pretty good perspective of what recruits think is cool.Son, no offense but you need a new definition of "very cool"...
Ok. Seeing these, I can live with the little sticker on the back. I thought they were going to put a big Chicago flag in place of either the N or the numerals.
Bottom line: NU looks like NU, with a sticker on the helmet. That's fine. I'm glad NU had the good sense not to do anything stupid on a big stage with their uniforms.
