may have been the birdie in the ear of the reporter that broke the UM craziness. Anyone else hearing this?

Rumor. It stems from a Facebook article...seems legit (sarcasm). Herman denied it. So did the reporter. Even if it’s true, seems like it would be tough to prove.

And McMurphy tweeted after that that he never reveals his sources but can say with absolute certainty that his source was not TH.

Who you gonna believe? I don’t know who to believe...

Honestly, it feels like Snook is doing everything he can to keep UM at OSU... first he “breaks” the story that Smith’s mother and his Mother-in-law both claim Courtney is going for a money grab and smear job... then he says Hermann (who doesn’t get along with UM, I don’t think...) attempted to smear UM’s name...

I could be way off the mark but if he authored a book titled “How to be a Buckeye” (or whatever it was) with a foreword from UM himself, I would say he is working it to keep UM at OSU.

It is a good thing for Urban that they do not test coaches for drugs.

Urban Meyer is entering seventh year in Columbus. That is a long, long time for this guy. It may be time to find a new home Urban. The luster has certainly lost something lately with this head coach.

We shall see how the chips fall.

It's not like McMurphy doesn't have an axe to grind as well. He sounds like a white knight as well as he's trying to be the first to break the story no matter the facts. He's not unbiased either.

What axe for McMurphy? Did UM do something to him? Is it UM’s fault he got fired from ESPN? I seriously don’t know, which is why I’m asking.

McMurphy broke the story. He is unemployed and got a huge scoop. He is reporting the news from his source, which is Courtney Smith. He has all kinds of texts that incriminate Zach Smith. Texts that strongly suggest Urb knew about all of this.

Snook is doing everything he can to make Urb look innocent. McMurphy definitively denied Herman as the source; sure, he could be lying, but Snook looks like Urb’s lap dog more and more...

Exactly he's unemployed and got a huge scoop. You don't see a motivation there to make things public before he has all the facts? He's the reporter who could take down one of the best coaches in the game. I doubt this reporter cares who his stories affect. Just drag everybody's name through the mud to make himself a big shot reporter and make himself look good.

The commentators I've heard said he did a very good job reporting the story. He didn't use anonymous sources and he disclosed actual texts to substantiate Courtney Smith's claims. And of course he wanted to get a huge scoop. What reporter doesn't?

Why wouldn’t a reporter want to break a story? The bias is when the reporter doesn’t the truth. When reporters worry about who will be helped or hurt over the truth of the story, that is when the bias comes in and effects the reporting of events.

Breaking a big story is way different then having an axe to grind. Having an axe to grind means you were exacting revenge for being wronged. Maybe you didn’t mean it that way, but that’s how I interpreted your post.
