Name it Paterno Field at Beaver Stadium, put the statue back, sprinkle Franco's ashes on the field, burn Saquon's toe nail clippings in each endzone, and bury one cleat of Tyler Warren and DaeSean Hamilton at the 50 yard line.

We lift the curse!

We lift the curse!
The football powers to be at PSU are getting their just rewards for betraying Coach Paterno and scrubbing him from our history.

I’m on board with it all except putting the statue back. A new, better quality and properly representative statue, sure. No raised “#1” finger. Although a raised F.U. finger to the BOT would be great.

Also, I’d want the statue to be inside the All-Sports museum, not outside the stadium — simply because I’d fear vandalism by ignoramuses, sadly.

The BoT put police there to protect scum like Bernie McCue, but not those who attempted to defend the Statue.

He had a hand in his whole demise by ridiculously staying on until he was nearing his mid 80’s and promoting his son up through the ranks when it was obvious he wasn’t up to the job.
And, well, whether he had any knowledge of his predilections or not, he did have a serial child molester as his second in command during the "glory years" which resulted in all these sycophants wanting to worship at the feet of his statue. So there's that ...

We're cursed with JoeBots. We need more university and football fans, and fewer creepy cultists.

What’s worse is they seem to forget every season after 1986 except ‘94 and ‘05. They only remember a past that stopped existing in the 80’s. They’ve set a standard that no coach will ever be able to live up to.

Make the statue too big to vandalize

Really? Paterno hasn’t coached since 2011. Many of his supporters like me who object to making him the Sandusky scapegoat have fully supported O’Brien and Franklin (and in my case been frequently criticized Joe supporting him). The true creepy cultists are the new “We Deserve Better” crowd who whine about everything.

Not true. See my other post. By the way wasn’t Franklin fired for not winning Big and National Championships because the whiny current fans “deserve” a Natty?

It is possible to be (a) a Joe Paterno admirer and (b) a fan of good quality PSU football. Alas, James Franklin made the latter impossible.
But of course there was never any good quality football under Franklin. What rock were you living under when Franklin won the Big Ten Championship in his third year after dealing with the worst two sanctions year and last year when they were a few plays from playing in the National Championship. I just moved your post into my top 3 🤡 posts of the year.

Yes, really.

If you're not a JoeBot, then why are you concerned?

Many/most of the "we deserve better" crowd are JoeBots. Because they have turned Joe into an actual god, and forgotten/forgiven all the non-good things that happened during his reign, they've determined that the relatively brief period of football dominance Joe had defines his entire reign, and that all successors need to be held to that mythical standard, as well. "We" deserve that ... "we" deserve better. Really, though, amongst JoeBots, the "we deserve better" push is just a way to highlight that the current pretender coaches don't measure up to JoePa (the mythical version of him, of course). They just want to continue worshipping the statue, they don't want to move on. They actually don't want a successor to do better - as that would sully the myth of JoePa's superiority (again, never mind he only won big with a serial child molester as his chief architect of defensive success and his second in command).

If Franklin could win the Big Ten Championship in his third year after dealing with the worst sancton years, imagine what he could accomplish by year 10.

As far as last season, being a few plays away from a National Championship game, Tell me, which win in 2024 are you most satisfied with? That signature win in 2024 that stood out in your mind?

I like all wins…”signature win” is a made up term that means nothing.

Without Joe, PSU would be one of the “Penn West” campuses and have d3 football…so there’s that.

Oh joy, our resident drunk lonely guy is attacking victims of child molestation. Did you type that while wearing a hooded robe, kneeling before a wall-sized picture of Epstein, chanting "it's not a cult"?
