I thought the same, which is why they joined the Eastern Midlands Conference instead of the HAC
Very well maybe their goal. The cutoff is 425. For 25/26 Lincoln Northwest is at 431. Lincoln Standing Bear is at 339. Certainly looks like Northwest will be above the 425.

I hope for both Standing Bear and Lincoln Northwest they are able to stay in class B for another cycle while they continue working to get their program off the ground and running. Class A has some winnable games at the bottom end, but always difficult to compete when you are one of the smaller programs in a class.

Yep. Mount Michael, DC West, Ashland-Greenwood, and Omaha Concordia are the next likely to grow to B. Maybe someday Lakeview, Adam's Central, or Wahoo. It's just so hard for any non metro school to have sustained growth. Of course always have the Aurora, Gross, Roncalli, types that teeter back and forth. Also years away but maybe Louisville, Fort Calhoun, or Lincoln Christian at some point too.
Mount Michael is opting down to C1 I believe. They are already big enough for Class B

I thought the intent of Standing Bear and LNW was to always keep those schools at Class B level?

They built small to get the bond through, but once the demand is there, the buildings can expand to Class A size. Lincoln Northwest is already at 1,050, which is 50 students over the 1,000 capacity.

Here is the numbers per grade for each school

Northwest
9 - 238
10 - 328
11 - 261
12 - 190
Total - 1,017

Standing Bear
9 - 258
10 - 266
11 - 107
12 - 0
Total - 631

Any update on Norris? The longer the job stays open, the more it seems like they are having a hard time filling it with who they want. It’s technically been open since late December

WAYNE is close to moving into class B, they don't have the talent to compete in football at that class imo. just not enough athletes to compete at that level.
Seems like it would be a conflict of interests for a HS football ref to be judging what level a team can compete at.

There could be a lot of movement in the next football cycle. Bennington, Gretna East, Lincoln Northwest, Lincoln Standing Bear, and Elkhorn North will likely be class A. If you look at the most recent enrollment figures from the state Scottsbluff may be as well. Gretna is close but probably still B for the next cycle.
I bet the big schools in the East do whatever they can to make sure Scottsbluff never makes it to class A. NP is far enough.

I'd like to see Class A shrink to top 24 schools by enrollment, versus 32.

That would put teams like South Sioux, Columbus, Norfolk, North Platte, Benson and Bryan in Class B.

Seems like a lot of jobs each year. This year in particular it seems some jobs have been open for a long time... I wonder if most of these schools/districts are getting many applicants

I think a lot of them don't have any teaching to go along with them. I would think finding a coach without a teaching position would be difficult.

Trimble to coach Med Valley should raise some eyebrows. They've definitely struggled the last 3 years but he's won multiple state 6 man titles and knows the 6 man game as good as anyone. I do believe they have some numbers coming up and were pretty young last year.

Small sidebar from coaching into scheduling......

Basha (Arizona) will not make the return trip to play Millard South this fall in football. Now the Patriots will open the season in Las Vegas against Arbor View

Wakefield???? When did that happen? Also hearing Rick Nordhues (former Syracuse HC) will be the new head coach at Lourdes.
