Tony Diaz: most explosive wr since smith- marsette....guy gets easy separation and attacks ball in air

Moulton: looked faster and quicker, finishing runs in end zone. Jackson looked promising.

QBs: as advertised
Hank: solid ,steady, on time
Heck: playmaker, drops hurt his #s
Sully: physically impressive , looks like he could compete

O- line: solid maulers
Winter looks good enough to keep pieper at guard...good news

Iose and Julian manson: instant contributors.

Buff looks great.
Hawthorne looks leaner and meaner..love it.
Deshaun lee looked like the vet back there, nice pick.
Buhr steadied himself.

Overall, i thought the team looked leaner, faster and very fit.

Great day to be a Hawkeye!

Seemed like a bunch of big hits out there by the defense. They were really moving quick to the balls. Good pressure up front. Promising.

Nice review mentioning multiple things. I would add the TEnds are still being great targets.

On defense, the stats might not show it but DT Bryce Hawthorne looked pretty good. Question marks remain but there was some DL depth talent displayed.

DEs need to keep improving. Coach Bell has a track record. Brian Allen might not end up being a big loss, time will tell.

Been waiting for anderson , iose, and chineke to show up....they are gholston-types.
Hubert looked good at dt.
Merriweather is beast-like.

We went smaller and quicker on d-line on passing downs...raider?
3-3 formation,but got good pressure.
Good prep for ISU 's qb?

I thought Juju looked good too but he is way down the depth chart.

I thought Jackson was a good RB and Kennedy looked good in the 2 deeps.

James should be the new PR.

I thought Kahmari Brown and Joseph Anderson really stood out in obvious passing situations. Hope they are on the field a lot on 3rd and long because I don't expect Epensa to be the pass rusher his brother was at least early on in his career. Brown looks like he could be a high ceiling player if he can add some weight but keep his explosiveness

Wasn't Lutmer supposed to be the punt returner? Did they say why he wasn't back there? Too valuable to get hurt?

I’m glad he’s not the PR because yes he’s too valuable to the defense. James looked electric back there and they could survive losing him to an injury better than losing Lutmer.
