Appreciate Havelock coach Brent Wooten and Tarboro coach Jeff Craddock for joining us on the Paper Boys podcast to preview their nonconference matchup on Thursday.
Great interview. You can tell both coaching staffs have a ton of respect for each other. And are friends as well.
Both are coaching for the right reasons.
And Craddock is a hoot and a half.
That’s right. It was 16-12 late in the 3rd. Then havelock returned a kickoff for a TD and then on their next drive scored on a long run after a missed tackle.
The thing most folks forget about Tarboro is against quality opposition, that offense is designed to eat up the clock and shorten the game. It so rare that the Vikings go into a game as an underdog. I hope our guys relish that role and will rise to the challenge. As strong as Tarboro is defensively, this could be a very low scoring game. Four quarters of 100% effort is required.
This is the Grit and Grind Prime Time Game of the Night. We will be there for this one tonight.
The show goes live at 4PM today.

Watching the game on NFHS Network. Tarboro just scored on 60 yard run up 8-0 1st
Havelocks fast pace for this level is really impressive
Havelock 6, up 2. I’m extremely afraid not getting anything off those points will haunt us
We had the mo and could’ve put it on them, again, not getting any points is going to hurt us
Havelocks line is holding badly, and it’s only been called a few times. They are obvious holds too
Not turning those turnovers by Havelock into points is gonna hurt Tarboro. Could be up several scores right now
I get that the scoreboard is out so he hast to keep it on his watch, but please tell me why he’s looking at it in the middle of a play
Tarboro is doing a good job on #7 he's the D1 receiver. Problem is Havelock has several other good receivers who can catch as well.
D has played great. We should be up. Gotta get points off of turnovers
Completely out coached this game lol. They’ve messed up our home win streak
33- 15
Number 8 show
I still say it goes back to not scoring on those turn overs

Hard to believe Tarboro was out coached. Sometimes it's just the horses you have in the stable.Completely out coached this game lol. They’ve messed up our home win streak
