There has been one customer that I sold hats to that specifically requested flat bill only. He runs an auto shop that specializes in the little drifter cars. When I asked, he straight said its an age thing. Young dudes will wear a flat

Slight thread hijack but I had some old waxed cloth hunting stuff. Vest, a shell bag, cartridge belt and it had all seen its better days so I ordered a can of fabric wax on Amazon. It made it all look brand new. I had this old M over S cap that was absolutely worn out. It was pink. I waxed it and it looks wonderful and gave it new life. Word of warning, don’t overdo the wax and don’t wax the inside. It’ll no longer absorb sweat and on a hot day the wax will melt into your hair, at least until it wears in. You can go on YouTube and make your own stuff out of Parrifin wax and mineral oil. It’s a lot cheaper.

Filson Tin Cloth hats, bought mine in 1990 mainly for duck hunting. Oil it once a year in the Fall for hunting season w/ Filson Oil Finish Wax about $20/can lasts probably 5-6 seasons. 36 years later it is still like new with the exception of some sweat stains or maybe some blood but as far as the quality i.e. stitching, leather inside headband, air holes, etc it is just like the day I bought it. They take some breaking in before they get comfortable so wear it around the house or in the yard to break it in before the season gets here. New they're about $90 now

Thats so we can use you as a firestarter if nothing else works.

This does bring up an issue I've been having lately. I've bought a couple of hats that have a dangerously-close-to-flat bill. (ordered them online so I didn't realize what I was getting into.)

What's the best way to set the curve in? They seem to be pretty resistent to my permanent curving attempts so far.

Back in the day (i.e. high school) I'd use a baseball and a rubber band. I remember seeing Lids sell some contraption for the same effect.

Pretty funny how many here are triggered by flat bill caps. I’m a slight curve guy, but I can think of several things men wear much worse than the hat bill:

-5 inch inseam shorts (ghey)
-the big Apple Watch
- oversized watches in general
-Nike dunks in general but especially in formal situations
-frat flip hair as an adult
-silicone wedding bands outside of work (grow up)
- Oversized water cups like a woman
-a hard part in their haircut
-flip flops not around a pool/beach
-long back pocket wallets
-bow ties
-seersucker suits

Can't we hate them all?
