I hated our draw and was mad as hell when I first heard where we were seeded and against the teams they placed in our way in 2nd and 3rd games. Now that I've digested things and cooled down, I'm kind of looking forward to the games coming up this week. Have to beat whoever they give you and I think our guys are ready for the challenge Seems like our guys play their best when the opponent is someone special anyway (Duke, Kansas - at their place) so I'm still choosing to be positive. Anyone else with me? What's your thoughts about the draw now that you've had time to stand back from the screwing the NCAA gave us?

I'm still in the 'mad as hell' stage.

Know what you mean but it is what it is and I just am choosing to believe in our guys and take our chances. I know odds are against us, especially in a potential UNC matchup, but I do like out team and will remain positive until we are beaten.

I came around pretty quick. I knew we would be a 4, and I suspected the IU matchup (have been thinking it would happen way back in mid Jan). And no south regional. They never reward anyone except Duke and UNC (greensboro games) for a good/great year.

SO I tried my best to keep it in perspective and try to see it from the other team's eyes. IMO, IU is somewhat worried (and likewise PO'd at the seed), but trying to be confident in our possible game. UNC cannot be happy AT ALL with a potential UK game in the SS.

All in all, I like our chances, really. I think we've all seen enough of this crap (and seen how it all turned out for the better for us) to come around pretty quick with this selection crap.

we'll TCB and give them all hell (as usual) !!!

Go Big Blue !

I hear ya. Don't get me wrong, I'm all in but our seed and our path is so unbelievably bizarre it just makes no sense. All I want is an even playing field and we darn sure didn't get one. Not even close.

Do yourself a favor. Go back and rewatch some highlights of the past few wins. Enjoy how this team is playing. UK has to beat these teams one way or another.

I think we were all pissed about the 8 seed in 2014. The fact is if the Cats hadn't lost to doodoo teams like OSU, Auburn, UT, and UCLA they wouldn't be in this situation.

What's the alternative? Forfeit? I don't think so. This is after all UK. I'm still mad and as always confused by the pairings, but we've got potentially a great week ahead of us. Beating IU, yet again in the NCAA sounds pretty good doesn't it? It's a toss up between that and the chance to beat UNC. Better yet both! If anybody can, it's the Cats. Then maybe we can shovel aside some B12 garbage, and get back to the chance at another title.

Or maybe we'll lose to Stony Brook. Who knows.

It is what it is. Indiana is a tough 2nd game but we just beat aTm and we've beaten other better teams than them this year.

I'm not mad about it but I have to laugh at the lack of logic. We beat a team on a neutral court, we have the same record. They get the better seed. The #21 team (who we also beat on a neutral court) loses to an unranked in the first game of their conference tournament for their TENTH loss. And they also get a 4.

They seed to create money matchups. If we were a 3, nobody would give a crap if we played Seton Hall or Texas in the 2nd round. But Kentucky vs. Indiana will be more of a draw. Simple as that.

End rant. Let's just win the damn thing and shut em all up.

I think I'm finally over it, well sort of. I'm more pissed Texas AM ended up as a 3 seed, still confused on that. This will be a nerve wrecking tournament though, but I'm ready. I think Ulis will take his game to another level and carry this team through some tough spells. I'm perfectly content rolling with Ulis/Murray til the very end. If Briscoe plays like he did in the SECT well have a deadly back court that can compete with any team. Well just need the front court to give us some type of production. Willis is looking comfortable out there again, and Poy seems to be much more aggressive and accretive. If we can get some big games out of Skal and/ or Lee I like our chances. UK, along with a handful teams, have the talent to cut the nuts down. It'll be a very fun tournament.

Excellent post, I think you are 100% on. Our 3 guards will be touch for anyone to deal with and if Poy can give us his A game we are going to be very tough to beat. Also, Willis does seem to be back to where he was before the ankle injury and has several more days this week to get even stronger. Feeling pretty confident despite our draw. I had the same reaction as you to A&M getting a 3 to our 4 after beating them but Cal said it best. He asked, did we play a game today and then followed that with saying he is pushing the SEC commissioner as to why we play a game on Sunday that, evidently, means nothing to the NCAA. That really needs to be changed to a Saturday final for the NCAA tournament like every other major conference other than the Big 10.

I'm not upset about the match-ups at all. Easily the hardest bracket, but I like the match-ups, and I believe in our team.

UNC's big guys give many posters on here reason to feel negative about our chances. Our frontcourt has has their problems this year but I still think we could give them fits with our backcourt and especially if our big guys show up for their A game. If it all comes together for one big game, as it has at other times, I like our chances.

These first two games will be road games. Kansas, IU and UConn fans will feverishly root against UK. We will be greatly outnumbered.

Not so sure of that, never doubt the Big Blue Nation. Des Moines isn't that all that far away. Not sure all those fans will be in there for the K game late at night.

I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm not sure we have what it takes for a title this year, what with the issues with our frontcourt, so I'll cheer us on as far as we can go with limited production from our bigs. Hopefully that will be into the FF, and with the parity this season, maybe even a championship. I'm hopeful, but happy with what we've achieved despite our shortcomings. It's going to be tough.

Kind of agree with you but guard play is important in the NCAA and ours is as good as it gets so I wouldn't be as negative about our chances really.

You're absolutely right. I don't consider myself necessarily negative about it, moreso, cautiously optimistic. I'll still be punching the couch cushions with every missed rebound, etc. I want it, just like today. That didn't really matter when House kept lighting us up though.

The reason I'm mad. Is because the NCAA knowingly put us up against teams we do not match up well with at all. IU has really good gaurd play much like us so as far as they go it's an even matchup. But they gave us UNC as our draw because the NCAA knows our weakness is our front court and the easiest way to knock us out is by putting us up against a team with the best front court in the country (UNC). They did that on purpose I promise. They know our weakness is our big men so they set up a near impossible matchup for us in the sweet 16. A truly corrupt organization the NCAA is. Hope we make them pay for it and somehow win it all. That would be the ultimate slap to the NCAA's face. But i do gaurantee once we start threatening to win it all. If we're still in it by the elite 8. Then I can guarantee they give us Sirmons and Pat Adams as our officials. I guarantee it. The NCAA is going to hit us with everything they got until we lose. Til then let's ball!

I think that the NCAA are complete JOKE (when is UNCheat going to face action for YEARS of "fake" AKA "NO" classes....is that EVER going to happen? I'm beg. to doubt it. If it doesn't? The NCAA, while already a complete joke, will prove that they are purely incompetent and a major rebellion/revolution/revolt - whatever you want to call - NEEDS to occur against those bastards).

I watched the game with my father yesterday and he said, prior to the game - trying to "egg me on" - "KY's gonna get beat today" - I said "Yeah, and what difference will it make if they do get beat? It will make absolutely NO difference. I hope we can win, sure, but I hope even more-so that none of our guys suffer an injury as this game will be meaningless when it comes to where we are seeded by an incompetent and biased committee". I don't think he completely bought my statement UNTIL the bracket was released...I think he learned a little lesson yesterday evening.

I think we get past the first round, I actually think we beat Indiana, although they WILL make it a game. We match it quite well. Then comes UNCheat....the team that just seems to keep on and keep on getting by with their filthy fake class scandal. I want to beat them so badly it's like I am a shark and I'm smelling blood in the waters around me. It would be even MORE sweet this year than it was in 2011 due to said scandal now being known. We beat them? We can beat ANYONE. That is the silver lining. You get through that battle? You know you can take this thing all the way. It will be one HELL of a battle however. Also? While it always sucks to lose to UNC? It will doubly suck to lose to UNCheat. Let's all will our guys on and do everything we can as fans to hope like hell that that does not occur.

In closing? This should be a FUN tourney this season, regardless.

I will stop being mad as hell if Kentucky eliminates both Indiana and North Carolina.

In fact, if UK survives until the EE, I'm good with whatever happens next.
