Has State ever had a bench clearing brawl?

The closest I can remember is a game in the late 80s against Delta State. One of their guys slide into home and broke our catchers collar bone.

I wanna say we did in the 1997 Egg Bowl. It was one Egg Bowl in the 90s. I believe there is video on youtube but its not the best quality. As far as recent years we had the Hawaii basketball fiasco in 2010 that no one outside of MSU fans remember.

Pregame brawl before the 97 Egg Bowl
Midgame brawl that was pretty bad in the 90 Egg Bowl; under today's rules the game probably would have ended at that point due to lack of eligible players.

Seems like there might have been a few other minor scuffles at Egg Bowls, but those two stick out in my memory.

State and UNO had the dugouts empty during or just after a game at that one. Didn't escalate to fisticuffs.

Sorta. He was on The Ultimate Fighter. I think he lost in his first fight.

On a semi related note...I stormed the field after the EB that ended with the fight. A male OM cheerleader pushed a MSU photographer and either Shivers or Sluder punch him in the mouth so hard, his leg fell off. 17ed him up. And for the record, the dude cheerleader was a big guy. Not puny at all.

I think that was the year that Deuche McAllister was in full gear in the brawl, throwing punches at our recruits who were wearing regular clothes.
My Dad would remind me of that every time somebody said something nice about mcallister, or any egg bowl for the next few years.

should have had one in '13 vs lsu when we threw behind katz, but lsu went chicken **** and didnt keep their part of the bargain.

I think some coaches got into a brawl at the regional in Florida a few years ago. I may be wrong about that though.

He did some MMA and still works out at my friend's place in Flowood. He is in law enforcement now.
