Has anyone else lost their "local channels" on Directv?

I live in southeast Mississippi. and Directv has dropped our local CBS and NBC stations. They give some excuse about negotiations wit "NEXSTAR" not being successful.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes it happened with DirecTV and WTVA about 3 years ago. I think it stayed off about 6 weeks. My uncle actually called DirecTV and said he moved and gave them an address in Memphis and started getting Memphis local channels.

Same thing happened around time of the last summer olympics here in NE Mississippi. I ordered an antenna off amazon & put it in my attic. Still nice to have when the weather gets bad & satellite goes out.

Depends on where in "SW MS" you are but you can possibly get Hattiesburg and Baton Rouge channels, maybe Jackson. Go to TV Fool or Antenna Web and put your address in and see what you can get w/ an antenna. When I'm in Starkville I can get all the Tupelo, Columbus channels and a couple from Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. That covers all the networks, PBS, and about 8 sub channels that show mostly older shows and movies.
When I'm in Jackson it's even better. My antenna in Jackson (out near Reservoir) is in attic and is a homemade piece of crap but works great. Starkville one is on an old satellite dish J pole on the roof.

I haven't had my locals with DirecTV since February. I've received a couple free months and some other discounts. I told them they have until football season to correct it, otherwise I'm going to Dish.

I would cut the cord, but the ESPN app is garbage on my TV's. The picture is clear; it just jumps from frame to frame. Mostly unwatchable.

Like some of the others, I lost NBC and ABC in north MS a few years ago when Directv and the owner of those stations got in a dispute over retransmission fees. I placed an antenna in my attic and received all the network affiliated stations with it. I blamed the local tv stations as much as I did Directv. I don[t understand why they expect much money from Directv when the signal is free to anyone that has an antenna. The more viewers the stations have the better, because the amount they are paid for advertising is based on the size of the audience, so they benefit greatly by having Directv carry their stations.

DISH is cutting off some local channels also. This misstep plus DISH Network never kissed and made up with HBO during the entire GoT final season. 9 months and counting til I pull the plug

It happens from time to time. A few years ago, Fox was gone for several months.
