I work closely with climate scientists, know more than most about the issues, and our future is dire without direct changes that either decrease Co2 or air temperature,...especially if you live on the coastline, fight for the navy, or are involved in anything to do with international trade. That being said these sort of protests are pointless and defeat the purpose. How about you take 24 hours off from using social media? Google is the biggest user of fossil fuels in the U.S...stop using youtube for 24 hours and watch them scramble. The great thing about our future is fossil fuels, hydrocarbon power plants, are actually quite expensive relative to newer renewable technology. People are going to realize they can cut industrial costs dramatically by investing in nearby wind, solar, tidal power...hell...35% of Lincoln's energy is already coming from renewable sources. Conflict or fear creates innovation or evolution. We do not really have the need for world war to drive innovation so I suppose fighting against a hostile climate can fill in...some of the new technology being created is just amazing.
Here is one big issue is that all these talking heads tell us we need to do something the sky is falling and in the meantime there using private jets big suvs to travel about, and live in a large mansion that uses more energy than a small town. And the other big issue is you don’t see of these do gooders like the high school girl for Australia or wherever go and preach to China and India who happen to be the two biggest polluters in the world.Man it's a big world out there and lots of amazing places are going to be under water. We owe it try to make steps that might at least slow it down.

I was in India in July and man the poverty I saw there was beyond anything I have ever witnessed. We won the lottery being born in the United States. The slums in New Delhi were something I will never unseeHere is one big issue is that all these talking heads tell us we need to do something the sky is falling and in the meantime there using private jets big suvs to travel about, and live in a large mansion that uses more energy than a small town. Don't trust anyone over 30 and it'll be a slam dunk. The younger generation is going to change the world for the better. This however seems extremely misguided
I expect someone to be launched out of here soon.
So are you peddling a bike to work? You doing without electricity and heat or ac? It’s really easy to jump on a issue. But most people that really feel this is a big issue have the attitude of oh someone else can do it not me. Myself it’s unproven and I don’t feel like paying anything to enrich the likes of al gore!!! The climate has been changing for years, the world once was in a ice age. Your entitled to your opinion and I think it’s great, I just simply disagreeProtests happen, even during sacred football games. I would argue we need more protests.
Climate change is real and man-made. It's going to be an increasingly destructive and expensive problem, but I was kind of glad to see that a lot of people on this thread actually understand that now.
As for the rest, you're wrong. Also Trump sucks. A whole lot.
