Cannot wait until we have a real #4 next year who plays like a 4. Someone needs to tell deshawn its okay to opt for a layup other than a dunk that takes forever to get off your feet. And someone needs to remind him that when he gets the ball he doesnt have to shoot, back down a double team, or drive out of control. Frustrating. Bring on shaq carter
Really terrible basketball tonight.
The reality with this team is that if we don’t dominant the boards (lost that battle 39-34 tonight) and make a respectable % from free throws (shot just barely over 50% tonight) , we can lose to anyone.

- we were out rebounded 39 to 34.
- we had 10 steal to their 1.
- we had 6 To's to their 17.
and we lost.
another one of those many days since the early 80's that I wish I could have afforded to go to another school. just so tired of this crap year after year.
coach needs to stop with the subtle messages and get in some players faces. #UNACEPTABLE!
And how do we get outrebounded by Hartford. That is effort or lack thereof.
This exactly. We have zero post scoring. We get zero easy buckets down low and have no outside scoring. Not a good recipe for success. Until we get some consistent scoring, we will have problems winning. It’s that simple. It gets some wins here and there, but we have to play out A game
It’s clear Pike has a lot to learn to. At least this should put the Pike to UConn rumors to bed after two horrific losses for the program. Arguably worse than any EJ stretch
It's the same thing it has always been...........SHOOTING. The only difference is the team is not hitting the offensive boards right now. One of the announcers said it the game.......Pikiell said they need to get back to Defense and Rebounding.

Those are some incredible stats, and still lose. Even being out-rebounded.
I am guessing the rim looked like it had a lid on it for us.
To all the frustrated people, go watch the men's lax team. It's like watching the Golden State Warriors compared to what you see from our other programs.
It will seem weird at first watching the score board light up under Rutgers.
both these last 2 games I wanted to go but had "that" Rutgers feeling and decided not to make the hour + trip each way. and I was feeling guilty. I guess I'm seen/experienced so much over the years just to know better...and so damn glad I didn't waste the time and the $ to make the trips. The excitement is gone. Yeah I have some B1G tix, but I am far from feeling as optimistic as I was 10 days ago. This team remains relatively stupid and unable to maintain any level of consistent performance. .yup..Same Ol.

I'm not turning on coach, but these last 2 games were Jordanesque.
Couldn't inbound the ball 2 times last game, and no answer for the 1-3-1 at all. Did Hartford not show this on any tape ?

His defense was terrible. There were also two other times I saw him lose his guy but ball handlers missed him. One play on step back jumper he didn't even lunge out just stood there flat-footed.
What exactly does turning on Pike mean? If it means being critical about the job he did in certain situations the last two games and not having the team ready to play tonight then I guess I am turning on him. Hopefully he is the answer long term but you can’t lose these last two games and not objectively think he doesn’t get some of the blame. I would be surprised that if he was asked to assess the coaching staffs performance the last two games, he would not readily admit he did not do a good job getting the team ready. There is no way we should Be out rebounded by Hartford. Most posters seem to be indicating the intensity was not there. How can that be?
no one is turning against Pikiell....but he deserves alot of the blame the last two games when the team comes out uninspired and doesnt seem like in game adjustments or made and specific end game play calling is brutal. He has received overflowing praise from me and others and will get blame when its warranted
