I remember that. The NCAA said he was ineligible because he was compensated for participating in another sport.
And the SEC agreed with it. Our players don't get compensated for playing a sport. They get compensated for watching the grass grow.

One poster sir one has attacked me in his responses to me but you from day one have been against the NIL. Since you are you are moderating me. Why aren’t you on the CE board moderating the 4 guys that attack people all day? Real insults are dealt there daily but you are here and have a problem with me. Again do as I say not as I do right? The rules are no insults. All the data points to us being last in donation in the entire conference in anything and everything. Please leave me alone as again there are many other people breaking your rules and that seems to be ok. 10 pages I. This thread others saying the same as me but I’m the special one. I’ve had a discussion with one guy then you come and have issue with me. Treat everyone the same please.
With, how many posts now... what do you know about"The CE board"? Really.. you came to this thread with a purpose as is your bringing up "The CE board" again and again.

That you don't see just how transparent you are... it is amazingly, and oddly, dense.

I had just read about the Utah player being offered a million from a collective and staying put. The Utah AD called the AD from the rival school and they both were frustrated by it but neither could do anything. I didn’t know about the BC receiver being offered 300-600K and staying put.

If these numbers are true and the players stayed it’s some proof NIL isn’t as earth shattering as it’s made out to be…at least not yet. I’m kind of shocked they would stay. It actually makes me think that many of these big numbers thrown around are phony in many instances than real. Utah has some good players but really who the heck on that roster is worth that? Try to entice movement with the big headline number but in reality actually achieving that payout might be a whole different deal. Sure for the Caleb Williams and the Jordan Addisons of the world but not most players by and large.

Your scenario makes it worse. It says these organizations are playing bait and switch with these huge offers to induce transfers. They get a single transfer.. right? Once they are there.. that's it.. they have them.

And.. are there any rules about school officials or coaches donating to these "outside organizations"? What about sports bettors? Can they "donate" also? What about former BC players or should-be Hall of Fame 3000 hit clubbers or disgraced officials? Can they "donate"?

How about politicians? If Trump donates a few mil to swing-state NIL "outside organizations".. does he win those states?

Bait and switch didn’t work and if it does work it would be short lived when it’s found out that’s a tactic no one will believe it in the future. I’m sure they did their research anyways to identify any possible gimmicks.

I don’t see these large numbers yet save for a handful of players. If it even does spillover into lesser players I think it would eventually curtail itself because ROI won’t be what people are expecting. Just look at the ROI these crazy coaching deals. It wouldn’t be any different for players. Except for some crazy boosters I’d think most would be like WTF am I getting for this money.

It’s not a money making business like all these sports franchises and I can’t imagine so many boosters would gladly throw such levels of money down the toilet save for a handful of schools.

Currently I don’t see anything changed, the haves are still the haves and the have nots are the have nots. You will lose players and you will get players. There will never full parity and it won’t ever be legislated to that degree but if anything I think opportunity is as good as it’s been for the have nots.
