Assuming he does like others have just like I'm sure you assume the incoming freshmen will have a impact due to how they dominated guys they were bigger, stronger, faster, older than in H.S. I'd doubt it more if no one had ever come back from this injury or if this was 1980, but since history shows young guys have come back with worse injuries to both knees plus medical technology these days I doubt don't he will come back. I said the same thing on scout after Alex Poythress had his first and second injury when many though it was over for him or he would come back and be a shell of his old self. I think that way with just about every injury outside of microfracture (because history shows you are the same as a player) and tearing you're Achilles. Working in the medical field also allows me to think that way

That's the problem, you are assuming one thing, he another. The only fact is, we just don't know. We won't until he starts playing. For the kids sake, I hope he comes back strong. I hate to see kids get injured.
Well I have pretty of proof. Is it due to not being in 100% agreement with everything positive. Give an example other than (he doesn't agree with me so he must not be a fan)

Should be easy since it's so transparent

QUOTE="Bungalow Bill, post: 4517769, member: 43985"]It seems obvious. You're pretty transparent.
Lol, whatever. I tried to diplomatic about it. The problem with assuming. We all assumed Skal was going to dominate. It just didn't happen. Once again, that's the problem with assuming.

Over the years I've seen (live) many great high school players. Giles is DEFINITELY one of them. Don't undervalue his talent just because we didn't sign Harry.

Not undervaluing. Just feel it's a little silly to say that Giles will absolutely be the best freshman, especially with two torn ACLs in his past. Then again this is @smooth as butter we're talking about so shouldn't be surprised.

But based on what? History has shown players his age come back from that injury no different than before

QUOTE="Rhavicc, post: 4517532, member: 12698"]Good player, but his game is revolved around high motor plays. Considering his back to back ACL injuries in both knees, I'm just not sold that he's going to be able to perform as he did in the past.
History has not shown that. As evidenced by ths article only 81% of high school boys returned at their same level. That is pretty good but leaves a pretty big chunk with issues. 2 knees can't make that any better. I will be shocked if he is the dominant force he used to be. I hope he is as I wish the kid no ill will. I jst believe he's fighting a tough battle. Not only physically, but mentally.

agree with this - it HAS to affect Giles because he's had not only one, but TWO knee injuries; it's bound to affect him psychologically

so two knee injuries with 81 percent chance of full recovery, that makes for an overall chance of 65% to fully recover. basically a coin flip

So let me get this straight you have cheered for UK for eight years from a scout board, worked out with this Jackson kid in Utah for five years and are in the medical field, so now your on a UK board arguing the comeback of a Duke player, okay sounds legit to me, if I'm wrong I apologize but you will get called out a lot making claims like that on this board, hope the kid makes a full recovery, you should have been a lawyer:popcorn:

I've liked Harry Giles since I first saw him as a freshman. He was that nice. I'm no longer debating it after making this a subject on the scout UK board and other site boards, they are all in agreement that the rivals board is known for calling anyone who isn't a sunshine pumper all the time or praise a kid at another school they don't like a troll or fan of that school . Some (not all on here) are known as having zero objectivity

Harry Giles. It's settled then. Guy is the legitimate heir to the evolution of man. No longer are we worthy. Homo Sapiens? Please. Homo Gilespians. The guy is a god. Can overcome 2 major knee injuries to rule the planet Earth. Maybe Giles can cure cancer in North Korea to ease their suffering.

Just stop troll. This subject is NOT that he won't be the best player, because he could however turn out to be, although it's unlikely since EVEN WITH A FULL RECORY ( which is far from certain ) he had played little in two years so even if he had went on a Moran mission like Parker talked about and wouldn't have been injured at all, but would be rusty regardless.
You've admitted he might not be the same so you've unwitingly proved our argument, since the real debate is how it's lunacy to still have a player either 1,2 in the country. When the BEST CASE SCENERIO IS THAT HES RUSTY AND NOT 100%, which is ridiculous!!!!!
You have ZERO stand to ground on since touve admitted that he might not be 100%. Also, as I've stated he'll be rusty and even if he returns 100, it's still highly unlikely that he'll be at full strength to start the season so it's highly unlikely that he'll be ACC first team and some form of AA, LOL!
I was going to be nice about tearing apart you're weak and flawed argument, but since you made it peronal talking ish about our board( which just because we've got some idiots ), it's got the most traffic, ) So I'll stop by saying go back to DI since you're obviously lying about you're " scout board claim since you weren't even sure of you're username since you said it was either some name, or the same name followed by a number, LMAO!
So since you're obviously a troll, who'd all ready said you like other board more and hate this one so much, just GTFO, and don't come back.

Giles is good but no he hasn't been #1 the whole time. He's not, nor never has been considered the coming of Lebron James etc.

Let's not make a kid a legion who hasn't proven to be one yet. Let's not forget Harrison Barnes.
