Goodness he turned that team around. Hard to believe, I guess that's coaching.
You do have to give the guy credit.They looked like **** most of the year but he really turned things around.

All Roy's players, and Roy still in the mix. Good job done by Davis. The guy not a dumbshit. But at sametime, Payne could of done samething for us. If our teams had comeback and you add a good recruit. Etc, etc. Plus if refs help you, you can play ucla playing stupid and then play st Peter's. I mean come on. Good job, but Roy 2.0?
We'll see what Hubert is made of in a couple years when he has a team of his own men.
Difference between Hubert and guys like Tubby and Kevin Ollie is that those guys inherited players who had already won national championships. Sure, Hubert inherited Roy’s players, but they were players Roy hadn’t done crap with. Also Manek was brought in and they don’t make it this far without him.
Reaching, but .. has stature. I do believe and everyone here probably will agree. Outside of Naz and Mag, UNC may have the upper hand on NBA talent. I'm reaching now, but ya.
Tubby got a team full of guys who had been to 2 straight championship games.
Hubert returned 1 player (Leaky Black) who had ever won a NCAA tournament game. It was his freshman year and he barely played.
Hubert helped recruit every player on this team.
Plus Manek has been the difference between winning and losing a lot this year.
The thing is, you can't crap on Hubert Davis during the season and says he sucks, then not give him credit for the turnaround. Saying it's not his players...well if that's the case, then it wasn't his players when they were losing. But I best most of people not giving him credit not were not cutting him any slack when they were losing.
I respect Hubert more than Self. The fact that UNC got away with the worst cheating in the history of college basketball while Kansas under Williams is second in cheating. Sure, Kentucky has it's in stain, but the difference between us and them is Kentucky got hammered by the NCAA while Kansas and UNCheat got away with it.
And then we he inevitably fizzles out FARRR Davis and HARRRR “[insert name of latest coach on a hot streak].
Hubert Davis has a degree in Criminal Justice from UNC. That's not AFAM Studies.
Highwater Hubert...hopefully the tarholes sign him to a lifetime contract, he will never replicate this success once Ol' Roy is completely out of the picture...
Ol Roy couldn't get these players out of the first round last year. Which is why he retired, and hasn't done anything except cheer from the bleachers this season.
Hubert's the one who picked up Manek. Hubert's the one who took Walton (Roy's starting SG) and completely removed him from the rotation. Hubert's the one who got Love and Davis to play the best ball of their careers. Hubert's the one who gave a bad shooter like Leaky Black the confidence to knock down 2 3-pointers in the Final Four.
Hubert is also the guy who may very well receive a commitment from Rivals #1 player in the class of 2023 next week.
Hubert should get a statue outside Dean Smith Center if they win title.

It never fails. A small group of folks here will slurp all over the latest coach that does well.
Again never judge a coach from their first year. Our 98 team looked bad at times before the run to the championship. Remember losing at home to ole miss? Sadly Tubby never made it back to a final four after that year. Kevin Ollie, championship beating us in the title game his first year, was terrible after that year and eventually fired. Nate oats last year looked like a genius at Alabama, this year was a big disappointment for them. How well can they recruit, develop talent, etc. First year is basically managing talent that your left with. Personally I wouldn’t be surprised if Davis never makes it back to another final four, even if they win tomorrow night. Remains to be seen.

They turned it on late which is great for them but don’t act like Hubert Davis wasnt looked at like a laughingstock mid year by even UNC fans. Are we going to just jump on the bandwagon of every coach that makes a random run?
NO ONE says there aren't other good coaches. Just most of them aren't super eager to come to UK like a lot of people seem to believe.
