I would say if you go thru the history of the SEC we would rank right down there with Vandy and Ky as a lower tier SEC program. We have been over performing the last nine years basically rising up to middle of the pack but historically we are bottom tier. UT and Arky had there glory days. Even Mizzou for a few of their years. And we know about the others that are usually dominant. I'm always amazed the way some folks talk like this is a 9 or 10 win program annually. It ain't

I'm amazed at the way some folks talk like we are still in 1980.

We do not in any shape form or fashion rank with Vandy as an SEC program. Whether we are with KY or not depends on how far you want to look back. You can put UK with us and Umiss, or you can put them slightly below. Arkansas is similar, if you look back far enough, they look like a tier above us and UM. They probably deserve the benefit of the doubt, but I'm not sure A&M and Mizzou joining the SEC wasn't fatal for their program. I think they're actually slightly worse off than MSU even though they are the only major school in their state and they have a money advantage, but that's based on me thinking Bert was actually a good coach, that his system was a good fit for arkansas, and that his record a Wisconsin wasn't a fluke. I think Arkansas is just a hard place to win right now. But maybe Bert just wasn't that good and they compounded that with a mediocre hire made much worse by the need to completely retool the roster to run his offense.

Wherever Bama and LSU and Auburn (usually) play which is the SEC west. In my opinion the hardest most challenging conference you can play in. If you can win here you can win anywhere. If I was a coach i would be more proud to say I won here than at Rutgers. More of an accomplishment I would say. There would be less pressure at Rutgers and honestly less competition. Ohio State is about it. I think LSU or Bama would beat them and skull drag everybody else in the B1G. But everybody has a different take. Not sure if I would want the bigger challenge or take the easier road and pay raise. Personally I think I would hate the northeast tho.

anyone that says Vanderbilt isn't unequivocally the hardest place to win in the SEC is either trolling, a rebel, or ignorant. period.

Look, anyone with half a brain knows that Rutgers is a significant step down from Mississippi State. IF JoMo took the job at Rutgers it will clearly be because he doesn't think he can get it done here and knows the fanbase is ready for a change and no longer supports him. I think Moorhead is the personality type that really wants to be liked and given our team's performance over the past year and a half, there is a large segment of the fanbase that no longer like JoMo as a coach although I think most all of us think highly of him as a person. We underperformed expectations last year and it looks like it will be the same this year.

He's nowhere nearly as thin-skinned as Hugh Freeze though, and as far as I know he hasn't gotten into Twitter conversations with individual fans. I like Moorhead just fine and I hope he can pull through all this and give us a winning team ... although I also think that's highly unlikely. A road win tomorrow would help considerably.

Honestly I’d say msu, um, and ark are probably the hardest to win after Vandy. The SEC West is by far the toughest division in college football. It should be easier to win at schools like Kentucky, SC, and Missouri. They don’t have to play the best team in college football, and get to play the weakest team in the SEC. There’s no doubt it’s tougher to win in the sec west than the sec east. Why do you think Mullen was looking for a job in the east? Because it’s an easier path to a championship.
