Looking at the remaining schedule it is a really It’s a tough 13 game stretch ahead of us. Probably 3 gimme wins but we need to find another 5 somehow and win one more in the BiG to get to 20.

One game at a time right now. Becusse we have to win nearly all the games vs the bottom half of the league and find a few vs the top half. So each game is critical.

dont have to get all nine in the regular season. Have to set yourself up for a run in the Big Ten tournament. Head into the tournament win 17 or 18 wins and then win a couple in Indianapolis
We have a reasonable chance to win the next 4 games one at a time. If we do , we would be 9-2 and only need to win 3 of 9 to finish with 12 conference wins. If we win 12 and finish in the top half of the conference, don’t see how they keep us out. We now own the tie breaker over Iowa if we end up tied.
Just curious, because I haven't looked, but how many of those 13 games are vs. a team behind us in the standings?

Why would we need 9 more wins? 7 more get us to 12-8/18-12 and is probably enough, especially with our quality B1G wins and if we get a couple more road wins - no 12-8 B1G team has ever been shut out of the tourney, AFAIK. Might we need one more in the tourney? Maybe, but I think we'd be in. The conference might not be as strong as the last 2 years, but we're in a virtual heat with the BE for 2nd best conference, behind the Big 12.

the quest to 12 BE wins continues (regular season + conf tourney)...I'll enjoy tonight over Iowa which has been a nemesis for us in recent years...
Not sure about no 12-8 BIG teams being shut out of tourney but Nebraska was 13-5 finished 4th in the league and shut out of the tourney recently…
We will see where our wins wins up but I do wonder how the committee would view the Michigan win considering they were missing five guys. Iowa hasnt played a tough schedule yet curious to see how they fare against the rest of the conference.

Northwestern can be sneaky good. Watched the Northwestern-Wisconsin game, went down to the wire.. and they beat MSU on the road.
Even Nebraska could be tough at home, they just got back the other McGowens brother and they will be looking for revenge. Look no farther than last year's debacle at Nebraska. One game at a time.

No wins are gimmies. We can beat anyone playing like we did tonight. I do fear that the effort brought tonight is tough to sustain, especially with no bench.

Hey we put us in a position were we are going to have to win a couple of these ranked teams at home for us to make it. Even if there were 9 non ranked teams its not enough. Building our ranking is just as important.

Stop focusing on the opponents. They don’t matter that much. Because of our disaster OOC, we need signature wins to have any chance at the NCAAs anyway so better to have perceived tougher teams coming up.

We needed to see that we could beat a decent team when our shots weren’t falling - 31% from the floor. 15% from 3 and we still won. You don’t know and can’t control which games we’ll shoot lights out like Nebraska. That second half of can’t miss play probably hurt us at PSU. The minute we start thinking we can shoot our way and take plays off on defense, we get into trouble.
Stick with the defense first plan, cut down on turnovers, and this team has potential. How much potential likely depends on the random distribution of which games we shoot well in and how well. But again, that’s not something we can control.

We can beat anyone in the country. The problem has been consistency, but the team has started to bring it on defense every night. If they continue to buy in to intense defense every single game we will beat a lot of teams and make the tournament.
How many let down games do we have defensively? In those games does the offense show up and bail us out? Can we bring this level of effort on the road consistently? That last question has been a strong NO but I am looking for that to change.
