Yeah riiiiight!

Bo was such a lousy HC the slob never could get even remotely close to having losing seasons. Seven years and never could lose enough for our current genius fans. Callahan, Smiling Mike & HCSF .......never had that problem.

If you are going to post what I wrote, why don't you attempt to address the points I made? The truth is hard to argue against, isn't it?

i get why he’s throwing in Bill Callahan and Mike Riley...but Scott Frost too? Frost is still an incomplete. He hasn’t failed yet or succeeded yet. Scott Frost could literally kill it from here on out. Or have another rough year or two and then blow up. You can not count Frost yet till we know if he’s failed or succeed...as of now, it’s an incomplete. If Wisconsin gave up on Berry Alvarez after having a rough go his first 2 seasons and going 6-17...they may not be what they are now. But now I get why Bshirt and I bump heads at times. He’s a Bo Pelini guy and I’m not. I 100% back Frost and this rebuild...Pelini needed to be fired, no question about it.

Bo looked like he hated Nebraska.
Harbaugh is a michelin man through and through.

Bo was content with status quo.
Harbaugh wants to win.

I'd take Harbaugh and his goofiness anyday and everyday over Bo. So many people act like a national championship is the only metric for measuring a coach. I'll be surprised if either us or Michigan ever win another NC (along with about another 100+ teams).

actually not far off. There isn’t much of a difference between the two Coaches. I’d have to say Jim though...at least he can recruit. Bo wasn’t good at it at all.
Right. I agree hands down if I had to pick between the 2 I take Harbaugh. His ceiling is way higher and his personality is way better. Plus the recruiting factor, however as the numbers seem to imply, he is doing equal to Bo with way more talent. So maybe it doesn't matter that he can recruit better than BO.
Another thing to factor in is conf. Bo's first 3 years were in the BIG12, which I think was and is a weaker conf than what the BIG10 is now. The BIG10 is a solid conf overall especially the East.

I agree that Pelini had it much easier in the Big 12 North than Harbaugh has it in the Big 10 East.

Actually Bo went to 3 conference title games in his first 4 years. That being said Bo was far more successful than Jim....and he had way less talent to work with No matter his you look at it and you can't spin that fact.

Bo's defense was ran over by only a few teams MAINLY WISCONSIN. Nowadays we get ran over by Ohio State, Iowa, Purdue, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Colorado AND WISCONSIN......REPEATEDLY!

I miss the big 12 north

And yet Bo still won 9 or 10 games a year even though supposedly he couldn't recruit.

How did he do in big games? How was the roster when he left?
He won 9 or 10 games a year with that roster. A lot of coaches struggle in big games. Pelini's done better in big games than anyone since Solich.

Is Harbaugh equal to or greater than Bo? You be the judge.

The first 5 years of Bo and harbaugh.

BO 48- 20 record (3 10 win season)
JH 47-18 (3 10 wins season)

BO 2-3 bowl record
JH 1-4 bowl record

BO 0-3 vs top 5 teams
JH 0-4 vs top 5 teams

BO 2-8 vs top 10 teams
JH 1-12 vs top 10 teams

BO 8-12 vs top 25 teams
JH 10-14 vs top 25 teams

Bo average class recruiting ranking 27th
JH average class recruiting ranking 11th (Could make the case he is doing less with more)

Bo average year end ranking 20th
JH average year end ranking 14th (assuming year end ranking 18th ish)

Bo 0-3 in conf championship games
JH 0-0 in conf championship games

Actually looking at this is seems Mich might get some favoritism in the rankings compared to Nebraska.
Bo played a much easier conference schedule.

Well, results-wise, they are both typically average coaches at big programs. They won more than they lost but could never or rarely beat any one relevant or highly ranked.

Umm no. No AD would touch him after his video tirade. It took lobbying from TO to get his buddy Tressel to hire him. He didn't even get a sniff at any P5 DC spots.
and you know this how??? or just making up stuff

see, in the silliness of it all, no one would actually know except maybe him and his agent and anyone that had interest or contact..

so it's just pure conjecture and made up stuff that you're putting out there dude.

if it's just your opinion, then state it that way.. but don't act like it's fact, because it isn't.

You're nitpicking. You know what he meant.

When can we stop talking about Bo?
Probably when we stop talking about the 90s, TO, Cally, MR, Frazier, Crouch, Frost, any and all other players, coach, or ADs, the 5 NC, the b2b2b losing seasons. Like it or not he is just as much part of our history as anyone or anything else. He will remain in the mix for discussion for the next 20-40 years probably.

I thought the question was comparing Harbaugh and Bo Schembechler initially. How did you come up with a Harbaugh - Pelini comparison???

Boy does this board really need our sports teams to start playing better.
