My dad sailed on the first launch of the aircraft carrier, USS Midway 41. His ship was named after the Battle of Midway and was launched a few months prior to the end of WWII. Although the ship saw no military action during his service I will always be proud of his service. He will be 89 years old later this month, and is a Bulldog through and through! Dec 7, 1941 should always be remembered but never celebrated. I believe Ticos meant well but used a poor choice of words.
