Proud to be a Joe fan (though a fanatic as some might see it). Read his books and was inspired by his philosophy (drank the kool-aid as some might see it).
Believed in him. His courageous position on treatment of blacks. His belief in education, first. His devotion to the University. His expectations of the University leadership (that cost him). His foresight on where college athletics was headed. Really miss him. Happy birthday JoePa. Thanks @ChiTownLionPSU.

Beautiful tribute. For the younger generation, I point out on these clips, both practice and games, how engaged in coaching and instruction Joe was. I know many have the image of his last years, coaching from the press box. But in his prime, Joe could coach and teach as well as anyone. And we talk a lot here about clock management. Joe was a master. I always remember the 1991 game at ND, ND was number 1, tie game with about 1:30 left, PSU was content to run the ball in its own territory and punted the ball away, baiting Low Holtz that ND could not settle for a tie, and sure enough Darren Perry picks off a pass, returns it into FG range and Craig Fayak kicks the game winner at the buzzer. It was a coaching masterpiece.

Such a good feeling to see a tribute from a great man like Keith Goganious. IMHO Keith was one of the most underrated LB in PSU history. He was a terrific player.
The respect that everyone had who knew Joe - even just a little - but especially those who knew him well, is so inspiring!
