His iconic role for me was in Sweeney Todd. The man could sing.

But he was great in basically everything.

Well... he really only played one role. Only the dialogue changed.

But there aren't too many guys who can make evil look so suave. He was a legend.

RIP, you'll always be Hans to me.

"And when Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept, for there were no more worlds to conquer..."

Benefits of a classical education.

Tell a person that you're the Metatron and they stare at you blankly. Mention something out of a Charlton Heston movie and suddenly everybody is a theology scholar.

I was listening to an NPR interview once of him and he told how his drama teacher told him he had no future in acting because his voice sounded like he was talking through a metal pipe. That was what I liked most about him.

"Turn to page... Three hundred... Ninety... Four."

His deadpan delivery was always so good. Also loved his voice as the depressed robot in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Sheriff of Nottingham kicks the bucket

In "Robin Hood- Prince of Thieves", Rickman makes that movie. He simply chews up the scenery.
